What are you reading????

This is my favorite winter activity-- reading. I just finished Gap Creek by Robert Morgan. I loved it - well now I need to get another book- so I thought I'd ask what are you reading?

I am reading Vanished by Danielle Steel. So far I like it. I really enjoy anything by Mary Higgins Clark, Sidney Sheldon or Agatha Christi.

Just finished the Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was really good and kind of sad. I like all types of books so I'm up for anything. I had an eye on Hannibal Rising, but wasn't sure it could keep my attention. I love the HP books and can't wait for 07/21/07, my own little juvenille secret . Until then, I'll keep the previously mentioned books on my list. I'm gonna check out the synopsis on Gap Creek right now.

I'm reading that right now. I'm actually finding it a little slow. I just finished "Hissy Fit" by Mary Kay Andrews. I loved it.

Just started The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs. Her books are usually very good so I am hopeful that it will be like the others.

I did buy it but my libriarian is the saint of all libriarians. I go through like Barnes and Noble or Doubleday book clubs, pick out the books I want to read, email the list to her and she either borrows or buys the books plus +++ NOT LATE FEES!!!

When my older 3 17, 18 & 19 now, were little, I got kicked out by the old libra. for keeping overdue books How embarrassing!!!

Smitten by Janet Evanovich

I also like to read James Patterson

I am the head volunteer librarian, so we try to check books out instead of purchasing. This is one small way I can help our budget.

I have just about finished with The Secret. I saw today that they are having a follow up show on Oprah about it tomorrow, I never saw the first show where they talked about it, did anyone catch that? Just curious about what it said? Sorry to go off topic.

I have read all the scarpetta series. This is her last one to date... Anyone know of any other authors similar to this kind of reading.

young, fabulous, and broke by suZe Orman - There's some good ideas in here, but most of them I've already done.

Yes, I know some similar. I love the Scarpetta series too but have to admit the last one or two have gotten a little convoluted. for me.

Try Karin Slaughter, Grant County series. I recommend reading them in order.
Blindsighted
Kisscut
A Faint Cold Fear
Indeliable
Faithless

The main character is a pediatrician and coroner for a a town in Georgia. She has an on again/off again relationship with the town's Chief of Police. I accidently read Faithless first but had no problem following along.

I just started reading Vanished by Karen Robards because it also seemed similar. I don't think all her books contain the same characters but this one has, as a protagonist a female DA who is friends (atleast just friends so far, I am on page 170) with a male PI. The DA's young daughter disappeared seven years ago and she starts getting clues that she is still alive.

And if you have not read Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series I highly recommend it. Much lighter than Scarpetta but very funny and crime based. Start at the beginning with One for the Money. It is great.

Thanks for the info. I will look into some of your suggestions. I agree with the last couple of cornwells also. It took me 3mts to finally be able to get through the first chapter of this last one.

Have not read any of the others you suggested.

Thanks for the info!

I normally read the trashy Harlequin romance novels. However, I am also reading Visions of Nostradamus and other Prophets by Donald Wigal, Ph.D.

I had no idea that Leonardo Da Vinci was known for more than just artwork!!

The book is pretty good, if you like that sort of stuff.

I loved Gap Creek, as well. I have to recommend The Second Coming of Lucy Hatch by Marsha Moyer. Go to Amazon and read the reviews. It is such a down-to-earth kind of book and really can't be classified in a specific genre. Every once in a while I run across a book that allows me to fall in love with the characters. Lucy is one them. It's a hands-down good read.

Not to hijack the thread but I just have to say, I love Flylady (aka M Cilley)!!!! Give us a review when you're finished with Body Clutter.
