EW! A freaking bug in my kotex !

True story...I just started this morning..I am premenopausal so I have learned to keep a stash of Kotex in my home. Last period I went thru 3 boxes of the stuff. I didn't want to be caught short again, so I started to stockpile. I have , presently , about 6 boxes of Kotex and Always pads in a stockpile.

ok, so today, I opened up one of the bags..Kotex cotton cover or whatever..and sitting right there on top of the pads was a freaking BUG! Looked like a rolly polly sorta thing..curled up..EEEWWWW!!!!! What is this thing ? A bollweevil ? (because the kotex is cotton covered..I dunno )...I believe I've had this bag for maybe about, hhhmmm 6 months or so ? I really only have a period now about 3 times a year.

I store the bags in a huge Longaberger basket in my bedroom, dry, no food nearby...no dust, etc..I have hardwood floors too, if that helps..but again, EEEWWWW!!!!!

btw, the kotex are individually wrapped..so I do not see a problem in using them..do you think ?

I think you are fine in using them. I think he probably was looking for a nice cozy place to sleep. No matter how hard you try you can never be 100% bug free. They can come in from the grocery, outside, whatever. Just give him a toss outside or down the toilet and try and get it out of your mind. And welcome to the world of premenopausal. Isn't great never knowing when you will start.... NOT! Just when I get into a rhythm of every other month I will get it every other week for a while... grrrrr!

I would have freaked out, but since the pads are individually wrapped I would have no problem using them. Maybe get the UPC numbers and contact the Kimberly-Clark Co. jus to let them know - maybe they'll send you a couple of coupons!

Yikes!!!! Although, they are individually wrapped, the bug could have found it's way inside one of the individually wrapped packages and fell out during shipping or storage. I think I would have been too grossed out to use it and would have thrown it out. Thats just me.

If there was soda in my mouth, I would have spit it all over when I read the title to this thread. I agree with the other poster that said as much as we try to be bug free, it just is not possible. Although you are most likely safe to use them since they are wrapped individually. I am a little anal retentive and would have thrown the bag away. But that is just me and I am not normal. LOL

I would call the manufacturer, and let them know what you found. Explain to them that they had been stored for approx. 6 months. They will give you the best advice on what to do, and will most likely send you a coupon for a replacement box.

Like other posters said--I'm sure they are fine, HOWEVER, I personally would not use them. Something about bugs, and the words "insert the tampon" would freak me out!!!!
