Were Lasts Night's Tornadoes Near Anyone?

Woke up at 8AM to the tornado sirens but it was the next county over and just rained here. Tornado watch still for the rest of the morning. According to weather.com a lot of the midwest is getting bad weather too

I live in tornado alley here in STL, but I've so far luckily never been in one.

Tornado watch for the rest of the morning here in MS also. No tornadoes last night just thunderstorms around 2am. We just have rain and thunder here now but looks like we may have some bad weather later on this morning.

We had tornadoes around us - 3 that I know of, but the closest was probably 15 miles away.

We got heavy rain, lots of lightening and thunder and hail several times - the largest being marble sized...enough to turn the ground white. We also had flooding around us.

It was followed by snow flurries this morning! You never know what you're going to get this time of year! Yesterday afternoon about 15 neighborhood kids were playing kickball in the cul-de-sac in shorts! It was 70 degrees!

I was aware and watching the news, but never felt unsafe or the need to go to the basement. It was pretty exciting!

Our town was rocked by a tornado today.....please pray for Enterprise, Al. The tornado hit my son's school while he was there (along with my 2 younger boys who were at his school picking him up with my friend). The tornado moved on across town and hit the high school were there were fatalities....
The school I work at was unharmed....thank God we are all safe....but please pray for our community as we struggle through this tragedy! It was a scary day....we shed lots of tears and said lots of prayers....a day we will not forget!

Nothing here, though I think we are/were under a watch. Been rainy on and off all day and had 2 automated phone calls from the school, cancelling after school activities and then saying they are NOT closing early, but buses might be late... it rained really hard around the time school got out. My husband left work about an hour late because it was raining really hard but I guess it was just windy on the way home when he left. I don't think it's rained much since then but has been windy.

I've been so upset about this today. I'm so sorry about your town. They keep showing it on the news and it's so sad. I prayed for those lost.
We've been under a watch most of the day and now they extended it until 5 am though it won't last. We seemed to have been skipped over by most of these storms.

It was terrible last night! We're in North Florida (just a few miles from the Georgia border) and had tornadoes about 15-20 miles from our house last night. That's too close for comfort!

I'm going out this weekend to buy a weather radio. One of my co-workers bought one yesterday and he said it was going off all night last night.

Another co-worker had a family member who's house was destroyed by a tornado last night.

jpmouser - I'm so sorry for you, your boys, and everyone in your community. It sounds like your boys are at least okay physically, but I'm sure they must be traumatized. I'll keep everyone in my prayers.

I'm so sorry for the tramatic happenings in your community. Prayers going up for all those lost and for the homes lost.
I'm glad your family was safe. Someone from up above surely had His hands on you.

It has been on our news all day along with the bus crash in Georgia.
Several of the boys in the crash are from our neighnoring county. They survived but were injured.
