What are your Spring Break plans?

We are doing a long weekend trip so that my DH can spend time with us. We're doing Southern Arizona (Tucson area) and then back through Phoenix where we'll see the Eric Clapton Concert.

If it's nice weather for the rest of the week, we'll go to the park, go bowling, and relax. They always like just being at home in their pajamas all day.

What are your plans?

My hubbie has to go away on a business trip. So, it'll just be us hanging out! We'll have a few sleepovers with friends, go to the Strong Museum. An outstanding children's museum that has a new Butterfly Conservatory that we haven't gotten to go to yet, check out the zoo. The kids get a kick out of seeing the animals in the winter. The polar bear and penguins are much more active than in the summer!

But! Most importantly, just kick back and enjoy not having to rush out of the house by 7:30!!!!

Brandon and Nicole do not have the same spring break, so it is a big pain in my butt right now. Brandon's is the week before Nicole's. So, on April 1st, Brandon and I will drive down to Florida to see my family and my sister's new baby (she is due March 23rd). On April 5th, Scott and Nicole will fly down to meet us there (they fly down Thursday night, both have Good Friday off), then we all drive back home on Monday April 9th.

I can't wait to see my dad, and spend some time with that new baby!!

If all works out, we will be going on a Disney Cruise for my DDs SB. My DH leaves in the middle of May for Iraq, so I wanted to do something special.

How nice. Sounds like your financial situation has improved greatly so you can afford for your daughter and hubby to fly down! That is great news.

We are going to Laguna, CA to stay for the week. We'll hit Knott's (Disney is too pricey) and visit family but most of all, we'll just CHILL. Life has been too hectic around here lately

LOL. not too fancy, but at the beach ( about 10 miles form us ) they have cabins at the State Park you can rent. Me and DH have been talking about renting one for the weekend, even tho he will have to go to work Saturday Morning/.Good thing tho, he works less than 5 miles from the cabin LOL./
However, that will all depend on whether or not the price is affordable then, right now a 2 bedroom 1 bath rents for 83.25 a night, a 3 bedroom 2 bath rents for 145.50 a night, prices are due to go up in April, So we shall see how much they go up.

If too much we will be spending a lot of time at the park. the Kids love the park on the beach. other than this, nothing fancy or super planned.

My bipolar Mom with alsheimers lives with my younger sister. Her family will be going to Disney for a week and I will ge Mom and spend the week watching her and taking her places. Basically entertaining her - like a small vacation for her. If she takes and afternoon nap, I would like to finish a quilt I have been working on.

My daughter just told me that her youngest son wants to go to a beach for spring break.
We decided it would be fun if we'd go along too.
We have camped together many times and get along well and always have a good time.
Our problem is that it won't be warm enough unless we drive a good distance and that will take more time and money than we want to put out right now.
So all I know right now is that we will all be together somewhere!!!

I am trying to find us a reasonably priced condo in on the gulf side of Florida-Spring Break will be about 3 wks. after Patrick's final chemo treatment, so he should be feeling great and just hanging out on the beach all day, doing nothing, sounds absolutely decadent. Nothing fancy, just quiet and relaxed this year! Patrick was diagnosed with cancer about 3 wks. AFTER our last Spring Break, so I'll feel like we've come full-circle. Can't wait!

We lived near Tucson for years... We might see you at the Desert Museum and maybe we'll do Old Tucson Movie Studio. Staying at the Omni Tucson Golf Resort -- got a GREAT Priceline rate. Fun!

At some point, be SURE to do Tombstone, Bisbee, and Kartchner Caverns (Benson) loop day trip. You won't regret it.

We live in Prescott and DH and I have both lived all over the state of AZ for most of our lives... Small world.

Sorry about your job! Hope you have fun with your parents. That should be nice.

First part of the week we are going to spend getting appointments done. Second part of the week the kids and I are driving down to southern IN to see my family and so my 14 and 15 yr old can visit their birth mom. This is the first time in three years they have requested to see her. Now I have to figure out how to find her, her old contact info is no good. We are staying in a hotel, which the kids will love.

I actually have looked at a few resorts in Alabama-looks like the beaches are just as beautiful as the Florida beaches, and it would shave a few hours off of our drive. There are some really, nice new luxury condos. I have been checking out VRBO.com. We did this last year, and there were some really amazing, last minute deals. Last year, we ended up going to the Ft. Lauderdale area, but I just really want to spend the week on the white sand beaches w/ the beautiful emerald water. It makes me giddy just to think about it! We have never been to that side of Florida before-can't wait! I will definitely let you know if I need a good, local review, and if we end up there, would love to hear your fave pics for restaurants as well! Thanks!

We won't be going very far this year. My BIL was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in Nov. they give him 13mts.

So we may go about an hour away and get a hotel with a pool so that the kids can swim, maybe go to the children's museum. Stay for a couple days just to get away, but be close enough if something happens with BIL.

We are driving to Washington DC, the four of us. We have been wanting to do this for so many years and have finally made the plans. We will spend about 4 days in DC, and one day in Baltimire. We will see a game at Camden yards. Then we will head to Williamsburg for 2-3 days to see the historical sights as well as Busch Garden. Then we are going to Va beach for two nights. We are stopping overnight in Philadelphia on the way home and hope to see the King Tut exhibit. We will be gone about 11 nights, can't wait.

Cuthie--The first real date David and I had, three years ago, was to a Clapton concert. IT WAS WONDERFUL! In fact, our first dance is going to be to, "You Were Wonderful Tonight." ENJOY IT. My FAVORITE Clapton song is Cocaine, but David said we can't play it at the wedding! He's a fuddy-duddy! HA!

I think we're going to David's folks in Houston for a couple of days--he's not really off when I am at spring break, but he'll take off Good Friday, and we'll go there for the weekend.

I will spend the rest of the week, by myself, trying to get ready for the wedding on June 16! AHHHHHH! :-)

We are staying home this year
Our Spring Break is the week before Easter and the prices for resorts & hotels are outrageous. We could afford it, but it seems silly to pay that much when two weeks earlier or later, it would be much cheaper.
