What are some of your favorite frozen dinners?

With my hubby out of town , it's just me and "Chico" (my dog) here at the house. I find it easier to do the frozen dinner thing.... I'm loving the Marie Callender's turkey breast with stuffing with mashed potatoes and gravy and greenbeans and they only have 9 grams of fat...and very filling. What are some of your favorite frozen dinners ?

I don't like frozen dinners usually. Most of them are loaded with HFCS and all kinds of aritificial this and thats. I do like the frozen stuffed salmon for me and the frozen stuffed pork chops for my other half that they have at Trader Joe's.

I am a vegetarian so I love Amy's frozen meals. They are organic, totally natural.

When DH is out of town the kids beg me to get the Grandmas Chicken, Rice & Vegetable bake from Stouffers. They love it!

Most of the Lean Cuisines are good and low weight watcher points too.
Love Stouffers Stuffed Peppers-taste just like how my mom made them.

I usually freeze leftovers... does that count?!

I do like to keep a few things on hand like frozen pizza and/or Tyson Chicken Nuggets for the kids when DH and I have a date night.

Also, Pasta Prima - Spinach and Mozzarella Ravioli and Morey's Marinated Wild Alaskan Salmon (both from Costco) are nice entrees for when we are lazy. I prefer to make my own side dishes as it is easy enough and frozen dinners just really never seem like enough food/calories to me -- we end up needing a snack later !

I only eat frozen dinners for lunch-- my hubby can't stand them. The only ones I've ever tried are the Lean Cuisine ones, and I like the spaghetti one.

I think all the frozen dinners (LC, SO's, and whatever else) all taste the same, regardless if its pork, beef, chicken, or non-meat -- like cardboard.

That being said, I continue to buy them, because:

1) They're a quick fix for DW doing WW.
2) She wants them (4 points or 5 MAX)
3) I bring them to lunch at work every once in a while...

Yuck though. All the same... pasta/rice with meat/veggie

Ill scan for faves here though (and maybe pick a new one)

Thx!

Jason

THe only frozen dinner we eat is from Prego. It's the Chicken Fettucine Alfredo, I believe. It is delicious - lots of flavor! Prego makes a few other of the frozen dinners but we haven't tried them. I don't mind Stouffer's lasagna but DH can't stand frozen dinners so we never eat them!

Most of them are REALLY unhealthy (very high calorie and high fat, esp given the small portion sizes on some). I eat smart ones and lean cuisine though and those. I like the Lean Cuisine Tuna Noodle Casserole variety and the individual pizza.

We like many of the Marie Callenders and Boston Markets the best.
But now that DH is on a sodium free diet, we don't eat them anymore.
They are LOADED with sodium!!!

I wanted to add that there are a lot of good canned soups but you also have to watch the sodium on these as well...

I really like the Progresso Chicken and Wild Rice and Chicken and Barley soups.

I agree with the canned soup, there are a lot of good ones and the new 98% fat free campbells are pretty healthy too.

I dont remember the brand but my store sells some rice noodles (packaged like ramen in those plastic pouches) but they are not fried and only have like 200 calories per package. They have a seasoning and a little oil packet included but i just throw out the oil packet and i think it tastes exactly the same so it has even less fat and calories than the label shows. They are red plastic packages, I think the brand is Thai something, I will check when I get home.

I like the Stouffers escalloped Chicken noodle cassarole, and the mac and cheese.
Even though they are small I will split it with DH and make us a big salad to serve with it.
