It's a happy cry for someone who has had a tradegy and now something wonderful happen to them. I was able to be a volunteer, an extremely small part, on the one in the suburb next to us. The young man with three little girls lost his wife the night she had watched extreme make over. The youngest girl was under 3 months old when it happened. This man can now stay in the nieghborhood, have a safe home for his family and many less worries than he was faced with previously. He is a teacher and now he can spend time with the girls rather than work a second job or summer job to provide.

I find myself crying too. Tonight's show had me bawling my eyes out through the whole show, what a tragedy, but what a blessing Extreme Makeover is. A friends mother recently lost her home to a fire and she has applied to Extreme Makeover because even with all the insurance its not enough to rebuild the home or the memories she lost. Her youngest daughter, son-in-law and grandbaby lived with her.

Nope, not me. I have moist eyes from beginning to end at almost every show. And I try my best to never to miss a show. But I don't feel bad about getting emotional. After all, the whole crew does the same thing.

I always cry with this show! At first I was envious of the beautiful homes that they get, but holy crap some of the things these people have been through, I wouldn't want those homes if it meant I had to live through what they did. Tonight's show was so emotional...what a touching scene when the two families met. I had to feel sorry for the girl who received the transplant...hopefully she was prepared to watch that video of her donor.

I don't watch it, but it's here this week doing a home in KC. The local news is having a hey day. Some small 900 sq. ft. house that the family has 4 kids and have taken in their 5 neices & nephews. Don't know the facts behind it or when it'll be aired, but jeez, it's big news!! Lisa

I cry like a baby everytime I watch this show. This weeks was really cool to watch since I went to Reinhardt College in Walesca- many years ago but I loved that area when I was at school. It was always very peaceful up there.

| Yes, I cry when I hear the stories, but then think they always go overboard with these houses. They could fix TEN houses with what they put in just one. NO ONE needs a computer and flat screen TV in every room!! I always wonder if these people will even be able to afford the TAXES on these spectacular houses they build for them. |

The family on the show does at least have a house to start with, therefore they are already able to pay property tax on it and the additional taxes for the upgrade. Don't get me wrong it's good the show helps people and makes their lives much easier. It's always nice to win the lotto and this would be pretty much like that for these people. In order to win you have to apply and qualify. Qualifications are not just being being a family with tear jerker hassels. They don't redo houses for families with no income or home at all who are not able to pay thier property taxes. They don't do houses of people on food stamps and medicaid or gov't help for thier disabling medical problems. Families on Welfare due to medical problems aren't there. They redo homes for people who certainly deserve a little better, but not for people who are actually between a rock and hard place. They redo house for people who CAN buy food and already have a roof over thier heads on which they can afford to pay propety tax. Does the show pay off the existing mortage? That would be very helpful. Still, I think it's a nice "Dream come true" for the family that gets the remodeld house so it's good the show exists. We've got to remember the show is NOT a charity. The going overboard is part of what draws an audiance and gains the rateings. The goal of the TV show (ANY TV show) is to draw advertisers via having the audiance to view the advertisements on the show so the show itself makes money. I only watch it when there is nothing else on and nothing I need to be doing because it is basically always the same. The chosen family has problems and the house gets remodeled. That's the story plot, week after week. Since I personally know so many people with horrid disabilites and frightening financial problems because of it that the show family problems don't make me cry. |

I cry every week! There are in Levittown Pa. Today the family gets thier keys. The show will air in Early May. Robert Redford was at the house seems he has something to do with a furniture company. I think he owns it. I always feel bad for the people who live next door or close to them though. The road gets closed for the week, all that banging. lol
