Angry Look at what happened!

Fedex delivered a package to my house today while I was out doing an errand. When I returned I noticed the package sitting on the steps. When I openned my car door, I coulld hear this whislting noise and saw black marks on my outdoor water spicket. I walk over to it and it is spewing water from UNDER ground. The fedex truck hit my spicket and broke the water lines. Water and red mud everywhere! Not to mention the fact that my electric bill will rocket now that the water has been running for hours, plus my husband to make a trip to hardware store 40 minutes away and pay for parts, plus fix it and let's not forget the flooded yard and ruinned shoes and clothing.

I immediately called and filed verbal complaint and am waiting for management to call back for investigation.

I am soooooooooo furious. You just wouldn't believe the mess we have. PLUS while in the middle of repairs, we had to turn off all of the household water.....cant even wash my hands, flush the toilet, etc. Just for reference, I took photos!

Furious!! Does or has anyone went through anything like this and did you succeed in getting reimbursed for the damage?

~What a hump day!

I will HOPE you get reimbursed for the damages, but my thoughts are that if you did not SEE the truck hit the spigot, then they will claim it could have been anyone, they aren't responsible. I am very jaded and not too trusting - seems people will lie over anything to avoid taking responsibility.

Will send good thoughts your way.

we kinda had the same problem one time. but it was the company that trims the trees away from the power lines. they backed into the side out our house and busted the gutters off. no one was home and I had a really hard time trying to prove to the company that did it that they did do it. until I was talking about it at the store one day and the mail man came in and asked if I got the mess fixed at my house that the tree trimmers caused.he had came down the drive way to deliver a package when they were standing there trying to figure out how to get the gutter back on the house. if it hadnt been for the mailman talking to the people who owned the company, i doubt they would have ever believed me.they kept saying since i wasnt here and didnt see them do it, that I didnt have any proof that they were the ones who did it. but who the heck else is driving something tall enough to knock the gutters off the house behind my house and who else cut all the limbs off one side of my elm tree. good luck with it and keep us posted.

I'm sorry this happen to you. I doubt fedx will do anything seeing you didn't witness their fedx guy hitting it. I think the only thing you can do is file a police report for insurance purposes and hopefully your home insurance will cover the cost of the repair.

Have you asked neighbors if they might have seen anything?

Maybe if you do some investigative work, you could find a dent/paint chips in the Fed/Ex truck that would prove your case.
