I had fibroids and I had a complete hysterectomy. I had already had all my children and because I had taken clomid I had a higher chance of getting ovarian cancer. I was 44 and I wish I had it sooner. I love no more periods, cramps, etc.... I tell all my friends it should be elective surgery once you are done having children. LOL

I'm having the us secondary to prolonged period and persistent bleeding- 3-4 months now; I also have enlarged ovaries (PCOS and they've been big since I used fertility drugs years ago; )the Nurse practioneer alluded that many receed as you enter menopause tho some need to be treated and there were various methods for the latter; I guess in my case they may need to be treated if I can't get my period to stop with provera..am taking the latter for twelve days in hopes to have a "good" period which sheds the lining and stops the prolonged bleeding; if it doesn't I will also need and endometrial biopsy
