We went and saw Nickelback in concert last summer. While they were okay, 3 Days Grace opened for them and they were FABULOUS! Just their opening was worth the ticket price I saw Bon Jovi in Los Angeles back in about 1990 (before he got big again) and it was excellent! I was in the top nosebleeds though I am usually disappointed with concerts

probably one of the best was the Transiberian Orchestra right before Christmas this year-it was amazing. Friends of ours had tickets that they couldn't use, so just gave them to us. My son Patrick is huge into music (plays base guitar, drums, french horn, and mellophone). Anyway, he wasn't feeling well that eve, but I made him go anyway. The energy of that show was incredible, and Patrick was in such great spirits and said it was the best concert he'd ever been too. Our seats were on the floor too-20rows back.

I agree that Eric Clapton puts on a great show! We went to see Bill Joel YEARS ago and he was AMAZING. Actually, the best concert I have ever been to was John Denver of all people. He had a way of making even huge audiences seem intimate

| The first time I saw Billy Joel & Elton John together in Orlando. It was the first time they had toured together and it was awesome! I happened to become friendly with the wife of the concert promoter when worked on a Prodigy BB and she was able to get us brought right down front during the concert. I'll never forget it!

Wow, been to so many that it's hard to pick just one. In the heart touching catagory it had to be Johnny Winter about 5 years ago. Given his health and the fact that he is blind he put on one heck of a show. No more whirling around the stage like t he old days but still a great guitarist. In the awe factor catagory it would have to be Neil Young at the Joint in Vegas. I was sitting close enough to touch his boot. Great show. In the high energy-big fun-danced all the way through catagory it has to be Lynyrd Skynyrd opening for ZZ Top at Mandalay Bay. Those guys are just great entertainers. They are having fun and make sure the audience does too. Somebody stop me now before I make you listen to 35 years worth of concert going memories.

| Hands down... PRINCE!
I had seen him before in the 90's and it was a great show. He came back to Vegas in 2004 and I got tickets ($100) for myself & a girlfriend. It was a PHENOMENAL show.... so great, that I woke up the next morning, called my girlfriend (from the night before) and we decided to go to the concert for a second night. We had to go through a secondary ticket broker and pay $250/ticket. It was ABSOLUTELY worth every penny. For a good 8 months after that concert, just listening to that CD took me right back to the concert. No question about it, next time he's in Vegas, I'm buying tickets for every night he's there! |

Recently...Blue Man Group. They put on an awesome show and for anyone that thinks it is just performance, nope, it is real rock music. Their band is great and Tracey Bonham was with the group we saw. Way back, before marriage, kids, etc. I would have to say the Rolling Stones. They did a stadium here and In Living Colour opened for them. Hmmmm...ZZ Top was good too. |

A long, long, llloooonnnnnngggggg time ago, I had the chance to see Queen. AMAZING!! The world lost an awful lot when Freddy Mercury died. Opening act was Billy Squier, also amazing. A girl jumped on the stage and chased him around, he ran from her and continued to play and sing without missing a note. LOL

Weird Al is FAB! He came to Fort Collins a few years ago and it was packed and so much fun!!! No Doubt also gives a really good show! They interact with the audience a lot (or at least they used to). I would love to see Prince!

This is a tough question. We go to a lot of concerts and have been for years. So lets's see... best concerts in no particular order: Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead (while Jerry Garcia was still alive), Billy Idol, Sawyer Brown, Ray Sawyer (of the group Dr. Hook), Twisted Sister (always puts on a fabulous high energy show), Ringo Starr (with the All Star band), and the Who.

Bruce Springsteen. Any man that can bend all the way over backward and have the bottoms of his feet and his shoulders on the ground at the same time gets my vote. His show ROCKED!! This was about 6 years ago.

Best performers I've seen would be David Bowie, U2, Peter Gabriel, Ella Fitzgerald and Patti Smith. Best concerts would be Live Aid US and U2's performances at the Garden from 10/24-27/2001 Favorite concerts of all time is U2 once again, 1981, 1984 and 1987 because I got to dance with Bono.

I have been to some great concerts, and I couldnt decide which is best... Pearl Jam/ TomPetty --together Bob Dylan/ Paul Simon --together B.B. King Violent Femmes Sarah McLaughlin Simon and Garfunkel--which I thought I would hate cause I didnt like them at the time, my husband wanted to go, so I went to make him happy, Turns out, I walked out of the concert a huge fan...One of the top ones! |

Boy I don't even know where to start - my husband says I'm a concert groupie! Last year I saw Toby Keith in February, John Mellencamp in March and Trace Adkins in August. I've seen Kenny Chesney twice - and yes to the above poster - he puts on an AWESOME SHOW! I've seen Mellencamp 3 times. I've seen Elton John/Billy Joel together. I've seen Aerosmith, Josh Groban, the Statler Brothers, Clint Black, Joe Nichols, Gretchen Wilson, Uncle Kracker, Indigo Girls, Pat Green, the list goes on and on. My first concert was Elvis Presley and then Shaun Cassidy. But I would have to say my favorite is a tie between Toby Keith and John Mellencamp.

I haven't been to many concerts but when I was in high school I saw Brooks & Dunn which turned out to be awesome. Then I went to see Travis Tritt and Trisha Yearwood and they put on a good show too. My DD just went to see Sugarland and she said they put on a really good show. She's going to see Sara Evans and Josh Turner in two weeks. She's really excited about that one because they'll be sitting 8 rows from the stage.

Several months ago DH, DD & I went to The Rollng Stones & Alice Cooper opened. Definately the most incredible concert we've ever been to. Alice did his show for over an hour and The Stones performed for over two hours. Tuesday night DH and I are going to Rod Stewart. Should be fun but next time The Stones are here we will definately be there.

My favourite concert has to be Def Leppard. Seen them about 15 times snce 1983. I've neve been disappointed with any of the shows. Seen Bon Jovi 3 times and they were awesome too. Actually out of all the concerts I've been to, and it's been many, I've never really been to a bad show. Now all this talk of concert make me want to go to one. LOL

Your screen name gave you away as a Garcia fan. Reading these posts has brought back memories of some really fun times. Some of the names mentioned I had forgotten about seeing until reading them here. Someone mentioned Kenny Wayne Sheppard, we saw him at Primm, NV with Bob Dylan and he wasn't even old enough to be in the casino. Saw him again a few years later with G3 (Satriani, Sheppard and Vai) at the Joint and he still wasn't old enough to be in the casino. Thanks to everyone for stirring up good memories.

That's a hard one, I think probably the Rolling Stones years ago at the Cotton Bowl with the Fabulous Thunderbirds and ZZ Top as backup bands. Some other close to being the best also and put on GREAT shows, the Grateful Dead (with JG), Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Van Halen (when they were a backup band for Black Sabbath many years ago) those were probably my favorites.

DH says Stevie Ray Vaughn at Phoenix Celebrity Theater. Revolving stage. There is NO bad seat in that venue! SRV is no longer with us -- passed away in a plane crash. He could sing and play the blues... ![]() I'm loving reading these. I want to go see 'em all now! Thanks for sharing and reminiscing. |

Toby Keith, Tim McGraw and Clay Walker all put on excellent shows. The most moving concert I have ever been to was Josh Groban. He is an incredible singer and his music is so powerful. Far and away my favorite!

I'd have to say my favorite concerts are always BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN!! His shows are really entertaining, not to mention that I think he is easy on the eyes...but that being said, his concerts are always longer than most I've been too. The best one was 3 summers ago in Giants Stadium. They had the outside concessions set up like the boardwalk with sand and everything, and in the beginning of the concert is started POURING, and he sang "Let it Rain" and we were all soaked and noone cared as the whole stadium was having a blast. The best smaller concerts/bands I have seen is an Irish Folk band called The Wolfe Tones". They sing alot of Irish Rebel song and always make you laugh, and your singing all night...and it's always a great time be it in a bar, or in a bit of a larger stadium ie...PNC Arts Center or something.

I've been to so many that it's too hard to narrow it down to just one or two. Blues Traveler is always great in concert. A local radio show did a studio concert with them and we got to go. There was maybe 20 people. Great show and we hung out with them for hours talking and goofing around. Grateful Dead- They always put on great shows. I think my fav was at the Forum in L.A. and Dylan came out for a few songs. Bob Dylan- All his shows are great but the best one was at The Fox Theatre in St. Louis. The Black Crowes at a small club in San Diego, Flogging Molly is a great irish band that plays here in San Diego all the time and they are great to see in concert. Horde festival was always fun. Having several stages and seeing new bands no one had ever heard of was great. I could keep going on and on. DH and I love going to concerts. We don't go to as many as we used to but we still try and go at least to 2 a year. Back when we were first going out we were going to concerts every month. |

Pearl Jam VFC Tour at the Fox in St Louis. I soo wanted to fly to Germany to see them this summer but am holding out for some US dates instead so I can see a bunch of shows instead of one overseas one.

I'd have to say by far the best concert I went to was to see STYX in Erie, PA. Kansas opened for them and it was an AWESOME concert....I haven't sang and shaken my booty like that in AGES! The concert was a few years ago but I STILL talk about it, it was that good!

For me it was three years ago when DH and I rode in the annual Labor Day MDA motorcycle ride put on by Abate. After we got back from the 60 mile ride we parked our Harley ate, drank beer and later we wached the best show featuring Montgomery Gentry. They were AWESOME! Sugarland and Jo Dee Messina really know how to put on a great show too |

Great Big Sea w/second runner up being Led Zepplin in the early 70's. GBS is more of a party than a concert, just can't sit still when they play and they are really into audience participation. Am taking the fam to see Weird Al this summer, all my kids are major Weird Al fans, glad to hear others say he puts on a good show. MZ |

Super Hard Question. Last year I took my 11 year old to see the Rolling Stones. We were surprised to see that we had floor seats so that was GREAT!!! The stage came right down the middle and we were right by it. I never dreamed that I would be that close to Keith Richards in my life. It was a great show for a child to say that my first show was the Stones as well!!! Younger days 7th row Billy Idol was great, side seat to Madonna's Like a Virgin Tour and 2nd row Adam side U2 Joshua Tree tour were all great. Tina Turner's Private Dancer tour was wonderful along with Culutre Club's first American tour. I enjoyed seeing Neil Diamond last year.

The Rolling Stones were here in Montana last fall. I was not impressed with them at all. I just got back from Florida and saw Nickelback there. Now they put on one awesome show!! This was my 3rd Nickelback concert and 2nd one from this tour. We flew to Vegas to see them last August. We were only 16 rows up towards the front corner of the stage. It was unreal to see them so close. In Vegas for the Nickelback show Hinder, Hoobastank and Chevelle opened. Hinder was just starting to get noticed but we already had their album so I REALLY enjoyed them In Florida, Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin opened. Three Days was ok but Breaking Benjamin was awesome!! I've also been to an Eagles concert and Bon Jovi within the past couple years. Both were great. I saw Aerosmith, Janet Jackson & Justin Timberlake at the Superbowl in Houston a couple years ago, does that count? LOL! Edit to add: Crap, I almost forgot I also saw Def Leppard & Journey in Vegas the same weekend we were there for Nickelback in August. How could I forget that?? Awesome weekend for me! |

Celine Dion in Las Vegas 2003! I had won a contest from Chrysler where we won a trip to Vegas...airfare, two nights at Caesar's, a limo to pick us up, tickets to the show, and a meet and greet backstage where we got our picture taken with her! She was such a beautiful person...so down to earth. It was my 40th birthday...July 4th...a birthday weekend I'll always remember! I don't think I'll ever be able to top that one! Other concerts I loved... My first concert ever...back in 1978...Chicago at the Spectrum in Philly... 1980...Rod Stewart...Spectrum in Philly...I remember him kicking soccer balls into the crowd... 1985...Hall and Oates...Spectrum in Philly 1986...Pretenders-Spectrum in Philly 1986...Neil Young...Spectrum in Philly 1986...David Bowie...Spectrum in Philly 1987...DH and my first real date...He took me to see Whitney Housten perform...again at the Spectrum in Philly!!! ~Lisa |
