Anyone have Sirius Radio?

I know that I could post this on other forums, but I really want the opinions of the people on this board

Anyway, dh found a sirius radio thing at goodwill today- for 4.99. He bought it, but we have no clue about it. From what I can see, it includes the car stand, the antenna thing that goes on your car, and the plug for the cigarette lighter (along w/ the remote).

Anyone have sirius? Do you think it is worth the money? Has anyone installed it themselves?

Thanks!

Yes, we have one and DH loves it! We paid about $100 for what he found, so he got a good deal!

You have to subscribe, it's about $15 a month, or go for the year for a little cheaper. Then just plug it in and run the antenna.

You can go online to sirius.com and put in the ESN number on the back of the main unit and pay the fee and within a few minutes you are receiving satelite radio. You have to tune your car radio to a certain station (88.1, 88.3, 88.5) too.

If you need any help, just email us flipper113@earthlink.net

Did it include the actual receiver as well?

Definitely do as Flipper reccomended and plug in the ESN number.

If for some reason it came back stolen, you would not be able to get the signal.

We pay $19.97 a month for TWO units, and we love it. I have not listened to the radio in almost a year!

We have XM...we only use it when in the car (although it can be carried in the house). I love it for long trips because there is no hunting for radio stations.

DH and I have Sirius. We bought the kits so that we can have them in the house(backyard speakers) and in the car. We love it. It's worth the monthly charge. It has 30 presets that you can set your fav band or artist or even just a specific song you like and it will beep for you and let you know when it is on.
I never listen to the radio anymore and I love not having to listen to commercials or some silly DJ.

Is that the little box thing where you choose the radio station and stuff? If so, yes I was shocked it was so cheap too. Think the person at my goodwill must have not realized what it was, or else it would have been marked a lot more

Here is one more silly question. Where do I put the magnet thing at? I am assuming someplace in my car.

It goes on the outside of the car. We have mine on the far back top of the roof of my car. Then the wire goes along the inside floor of the car to the frontseat.

Thanks so much! Yall are awesome

It works like a charm (so far). I am going to have to figure out how to get the antenna wires to look better, but other than that, everything is great.

Best 5.00 my dh has ever spent there. I appreciate all the help!

Now, you DO have to pay $12/mth (for XM it was...) to continue. I liked it, to a point.
