Husband just lost his job, need advise.......

So my husband lost his job about 2 weeks ago. He's been doing contract work around the area, but I'm looking for some type of work I could do at home, does anybody have any advise? I have a 2 year old daughter, so I stay at home, and honestly we would pay all of my pay check for child care if I worked and that was with me making good money on a job. Any advise, recommendations would be great.

I delievered newspapers in the Am in the suburbs. House delivery - no collecting.

I woke up at 4, was home by 5:30 usually M-Sat, and Sunday, I was home by 7.

I made $250/week - untaxed til end of yr..

LOTS of wear/tear on the car (READ: LOTS LOTS LOTS)

Brakes.. tires... yeah. LOTS.

Money was good, though.

Not to bring kids though.

ETA: Remember. Leave your pride at the door. I was working with some people that umm... hurm... Didnt speak English, had no 'legal' license to drive, and some that were, whats the word... sent back to the country they came from, because they were illegally here, kwim?

I did what I <HAD> to do... It fit into <MY> schedule well, do keep DW home.

So, if needed, like in MY post... Suck it up... do what you HAVE to do.

HTH!

HUGS! So sorry about the lost job There are LOTS of scams out there so beware! Can you take another child into your home for extra cash? In most states you can "do daycare" for one child or two siblings without a license for daycare. You could possibly clean houses? I know a SAHM who cleans houses and takes her DS with her and he plays gameboy while she cleans.

Good luck

Thats what I did when my now exh left me with no job and a 2 yr old and infant!! I babysat I think it was 4 other children....that was the limit I could have....I also had 2 others at a different time a couple days a week...It worked out good enough that I was still able to stay home with my babies and had some income to pay the bills...

I know nothing about this website so can't endorse it, I just happened to see it on gather.com.

Annika's

There are different listings for work at home jobs, some normal and some are for ummm "actresses".

Just look down the left column.

I used to work in church-based child care where my children were able to attend for free. I also did home day care for about a year, but that is a BIG commitment--you can't just "be sick", you can't go running errands often, etc. And you have to protect yourself (contracts, insurance...).

Before you go into debt etc, I woud look for work outside the home.... no reason hubby can not watch the baby if he's already home... I went through this and went to my local grocery store , explained the situatuion and they were more then happy to give me hours...Places like that have such a high turn-over and my honesty in saying, I only wanted hours until hubby went back to work, they were more then happy to help...

Babysitting at home is also good money... I put up fliers at the grocery store offering babysitting services "on demand"... I have a Moms who call the night before saying they need a sitter for a couple of hours the next day and if I am free, I take them.... I average over $100 a week working only during school hours... I don't do weekend, but do take certain kids on days off school /snow days...... In fact I have a little on coming in a few hours so her Mom can go to the Dr's ...its not exactly "steady" money and some weeks are better then others, but it works for me..... next week I have fifteen hours scheduled....... I have certain terms.....all pick ups are by 4:00 when my children get home and not before 9:00 when they have left...exceptions are made for my more regluar kids of course.... if my children wake up sick, parents are told and can decide what they want to do.....
