I am going to the prom!

Ok......I am finally going to a prom. I missed my husbands prom because I was 8 months pregnant. We decided to take our daughter out the night I had my senior prom so we never attended one. Now he did go to his junior prom with someone he was with before me but that does not count.

At the age of 30 we are going to a second chance prom. It is a prom theme and all the money goes to a charity that helps send children with disabilities to Walt Disney. I am so excited!

So what do I wear? According to the site you can dress up as if you were attending the prom or just wear Church clothes.

My only down fall is the hotel that this is being held at is already sold out of rooms. The entire hotel is booked. But I was able to place my name on a waiting list and we have 2 months to hope that someone cancels their reservations.

wow, that sounds like fun. I would go to a second hand store (or borrow a dress from a friend) and get a full-on prom dress-something similar to what you would have worn to your own prom. Remember Pretty in Pink? lol...And do your hair totally in that style as well-big 80's hair, whatever. That would be so cool...Have fun!

Are you ok with a needle and thread? I once went to a store with fancy dresses and got 75%off a dress because it had a small rip. It laced up the back and one of the loops was broken. It took all of 5 min to fix and I got the dress for $30. I still have it in my closet.

Recently I took my sister in law to the mall to buy a prom dress for her. The store she bought her dress at was DEB. Now although they have a lot of teen clothing there, they have Sizes up to 20 the dresses are beautiful and do not cost an arm and a leg. If that is the avenue you would like go I would strongly recommend going to a DEB

There is two other hotels but I am really waiting to see if someone cancels that way we can stay in the hotel that it is happening at.

NO, my children are not going....just DH and myself. The money raised goes to The Grin Kids fund which helps sick children.

We really are looking forward to this.....sounds like it will be a lot of fun.
