Smile American Idol - 4/3

Well, what did you all think about Tony Bennett night? Who was good? Who should get the heck off the stage?

Tell us all what you think!

I have a funny feeling that it will be Phil that goes home. He has a great voice but he just isn't playing the game right.....not enough showmanship plus he sings for his wife. That just doesn't have idol appeal...

Sanjaya will probably get through because he keeps bringing something new, even if it is bad.
And Haley isn't good, but she is playing the sexy angle and can draw the vote on that. She looks good in green. LOL

Man, I just can't get "in" to any of these people too much this year, I am trying really hard to find a favorite and no one really pops out, I do like Haley's voice, she might need some training.

I hope the next American Idol is better then this one. I am so disappointed this year.

So check it out , happy2behere is just wondering what these judges were thinking this year? Did they all suffer some bump on the head?

I am just not even entertained this year.

So, check it out Dog... I really do agree.

I'm banking on Jordin. She seems to have the best overall package to me. Especially for being only 17. This girl can go far AND it is so nice to see a normal-sized teenage girl role model.

I hope that she wins.

I didn't get to see any of it except Lakiesha and that was at the end of her performance, didn't hear what the judges said b/c I was too busy putting up groceries. My BF called and freaked out when I wasn't watching it....said none of them were good last night. Oh well, I didn't vote either b/c I want to see who did the best and vote for that person...I hope Sanjaya goes home tonight.

Well, now that they voted off Chris S, I'm pulling for either Jordin or Gina. I think Melinda is in a whole 'nother ballpark than the others. Way too good for AI.

Jordin is good but I feel she has more of a "broadway" feel than idol. I like Blake but he's not a GREAT singer....he just has the package. I DO NOT like Lakesa or Melinda at all. Big voices but they seem like *dated* voices like Aretha types...not suited for today's market. Doesn't mean they aren't good....means I don't care for them.

Sanjaya (as always) SHOULD get the boot but I bet it's Phil

I think they <ALL> (yeah, all) performed at their own best last night.

However, as always, Sanjaya should go. But I think Phil (bald one?) was the other of the bottom 2.

His song choice did him in, I believe.

OK--here's my take on this.......

I absolutely LOVED Idol last season. This year, I watch but it's not quite the same as last year! I think my biggest problem this year is Sanjaya. It irks the pure livin' pee out of my that he's still there. The way that Vote for the Worst and the pubescent tweens/teens have taken over and ruined this show is unreal. I don't watch alot of tv and truly look forward to AI. First off....how Sanjaya got to "the big stage" after reaching Hollywood is all Simon, Paula and Randy's fault! So.....as all three are so irritated that he is still there--ultimately it is their fault. I couldn't help but laugh last night when Simon said he would "try a different approach" and told Sanjaya it was "wonderful" (or terrific...something like that). I knew he (Sanjaya) would be back to his old form (after the "Ya Really Got Me Now" song two weeks ago and the faux-hawk week w/Gwen Stephani) with a Tony Bennett song. Sure enough.....it was the "old Sanjaya" w/his blah voice (not that the two previous weeks were good anyway though). Second...the only way to get rid of this kid is to actually vote for who you like~~anybody but him. I think eventually--way down the road, he WILL go but....it will not be until a few of the others (at least four or five) are booted off and they give their votes to someone else. I really think he'll be in the final four!!! That's pitiful! So--PEOPLE---Vote for your favorite-----ANYBODY. The only way to get rid of him is to vote for who you like and increase their votes!

Now....

My favorite is an underdog. I like Chris Richardson. I know he won't will but he so reminds me of Justin Timberlake and I love Justin. ((I am a 41 YO woman and love Justin...sad huh??)). Seriously, I like his voice alot. My daughter downloaded his song for the upcoming AI cd and it sounds great.

I like Blake, too. He's the cool beat-boxin' kid that has a really good voice. But, I don't think he's gonna win either.

My favorite girl is Jordin. For 17....she is wonderful and can sing her butt off! I'd love to see her win. But.......she probably won't either.

I like Gina alot!!! That girl can rock! But, that's not what America seems to look for. If they did, Chris Daughtry would have won last year. He is undoubtedly the best from last season (cd sells, at least) though Kat was my fav last year.

Sanjaya---he stinks...'nough said!

Not a real fan of Phil (though he CAN definitely sing) or Haley (she has just been flying under the radar getting in the bottom two or three but not getting voted off). I am guessing that one of these two will go home. But w/Idol...anything is possible--look at Sanjaya!

I think the front-runners are definitely Melinda and Lakisha w/Melinda taking home the title of AI-Season 6 winner!

JMO!

Didn't Ryan say to Sanjaya something to the effect "You're great at flying under the radar"? Slam. I did like Sanjaya in the beginning, but now it's turning into a joke, and he's doing everything he can to make it just one more week. Maybe we he deserves a little credit. He could just quit or have an attitude like he wants to leave, but he's not doing that. I would have much rather seen Sanjaya's sister make the cut. I thought her audition was great.

I'm starting to really like Blake as the weeks go by. I also think Haley has a beautiful voice and don't understand why others do not like her. She will not win, but still has a lovely voice.

Really like Jordin. Think Gina is just okay.

You know, the sad thing is....Sanjaya isn't just making it week to week. He has only been in the bottom two/three ONE time!! He's a contender (thanks to all the many people that are voting for him)!!! Also, I bet American Idol is actually loving this. Look at all the free publicity for their show they are getting with people talking/writing about AI! Granted, alot of fans think it stinks the way the show is going but AI has gotten so much press from this guy--free!

Sadly, he has made the comment that he knows he's not the best singer (in one of the shows a few weeks ago). But, at 17, what kid wouldn't keep going on....even though they were being voted for as Vote for the Worst? He's on tv every week, twice a week! He's got the life!

You're right. Sanjaya is going to come out of this with something big, I'm sure. All this publicity will land him something. He does seem to be soaking it all in, and any negative press doesn't seem to affect him. Makes you wonder how the other contestants treat him. They have to really resent him and his fanbase.

SHOCKER on Wed night to see Gina leave. I didn't see that one coming.....thought she would at least be in the top 6.
