A lot of times people post free subscriptions on the 'Just Freebies' board. That's how I got my first free subscription. Once you sign up for one, then you get e-mails every once in a while offering you other subscriptions - most of which I have no interest in. I have gotten offers for free subscriptions to nursing mags, CEO mags, waterskiing mags, etc. - basically just things I have no interest in. I usually just post them on the 'Just Freebies' board so others can sign up for them if they want to. I also get a lot of offers for digital versions of magazines now. The offers don't seem to be as good as they used to be.

There are also websites where you can sign up to take surveys and earn points to purchase some of the gifts they offer (some of which are magazine subscriptions) - although with most of them, it does take quite a while to rack up many points.
