Hey guys, thought you all should know, since it seems most of you all have been there since the beginning of this whole ordeal w/ Patrick-can you believe it's almost been a year since he was diagnosed???? He had his last chemo a few weeks ago. Yesterday he had all of his scans and x-rays. His doctor (who is so awesome by the way!) told us that Patrick is CANCER FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a relief-I bawled like a baby, I just didn't realize how long I'd been holding my breathe until he gave us the news. He still has another xray on his feet on Monday (one of the chemo drugs has messed up his nerve endings and he has a drop-foot kind of thing going on-which on size 16feet looks really bad). The Dr. is not expecting anything, just wants to make sure that Pat doesn't have "old lady bones" as he put it and wants to rule out anything there. After that, he gets his portocatheter removed from his chest on Thurs., and we don't have to go back to the Hemonc clinic for a month! This is after going 1-2x per week for the last 10+mos.-wow! He will have monthly visits and scans done every three mos. for the next year, but will be seen there on a regular basis til he is 21-he is almost 17 now. I have to tell you all that this has been the wildest ride of my life, but so glad to go through it with such a great kid-with the best smile you've ever seen. And if you would like to see a pic of his smile and put a face to the kid you all have been praying for and offering your support for all of this time, please post your email addy and I will send you a link to our snapfish acct. Or if someone could tell me how to post a link to a specific snapfish photo, that would be great too. I have so much more to post, and will do so when I can collect my thoughts better. But just thought you all would appreciate the news and just know that you all have played a HUGE part in keeping me sane through this whole experience, and just know that your prayers were heard by the big guy upstairs....And I thank you for that.

When I read your post I almost cried because I so know how you feel! 15 years ago on May 15th our son was diagnosed with cancer and when they told me (8.5 years later) I felt the same way!!! How wonderful!

Congratulations to you and your family! Those are sweet words and that's wonderful news! I can't imagine how difficult this past year must have been for you and your family. I guess events like this really help you put the rest of your life into perspective.

I just have one question - Where on earth do you buy Patrick's shoes??? I thought my DH had big feet, but he only wears a size 14, and it's hard enough finding shoes for him!
