Am I Asking Too Much?

Where has common courtesy gone?

I phoned in a prescription transfer to CVS this morning at 9:00. I was told my prescription would be ready in one hour. I arrived there a little after noon which is a bit over (3) hours and my prescription wasn't ready.

Not only wasn't it ready, but they didn't have enough to completely fill it. So now I have to go back tomorrow to get the balance.

The pharmacist's assistant informed me that they had been real busy and also the other pharmacy didn't get it transferred in time.

I understand those things happen, but don't you think it would have been common courtesy for them to call me and let me know it wouldn't be ready as quoted. And then when they did get the information from the other pharmacy, let me know that they didn't have ample quantity so I wouldn't have to make 2 trips.

I agree with you. It drives me nuts when stores cannot take 3 min. for the sake and happiness of their customers. My best friend takes a uncomon medication (has taken it since she was a child), takes the same amount every day, fills it at the same pharmancy (for 5 years), same perscription every month, and they never seem to have enough to fill her perscription. She now calls them a few days early so they can order it for her.

This is the reason my sister just transferred ALL her prescriptions from CVS to our little local pharmacy. My DH and I transferred ours a long time ago but she finally decided to make the change when CVS continued to do the things you've just mentioned. Plus she said there was never enough people on staff and they're rude. Our little local pharmacy (about 2 miles from our house) has plenty of staff, knows you by name (even on the phone!) and will even open the pharmacy in the middle of the night if you need them. They're great!!

Walgreens put up a big store in our quaint little town. I work for the largest employer in town. Walgreens does not accept our medical insurance for prescriptions. So I refuse to shop st the store for anything.

That just makes no sense.. I wouldn't shop there either.

courtesy is a dying art. People are just rude. I don't have a CVS nearby but I do not like Walgreens and they are everywhere!
