Tomorrow is Friday the 13th!

Are you superstitious?

I am not , but had family that was!

Some things are funny and you wonder how they got started .
Breaking a mirror? Walking under a ladder?

As far as superstitous goes......Friday the 13th doesn't seem to bother me, ALTHOUGH, I usually have an awful Saturday the 14th for some reason.

I am superstitous like this:
If I go in one door, I must go out that same door.
If I see a black cat cross the road in front of me, I will cross an X three times.
If I purchase something and my total or my change is $6.66, I will buy something else to offset.

AND I know there are others, but these are the ones I know right off the top of my head .

I will buy something extra if my order comes up $6.XX but it is more like I am thinking Satan is getting joy that his number came up on my order to remind me is there so I will buy something else to throw back at him and say HA you can't get me. lol

Ok I know that sounded a little nuts but it is more of a religion thing for me.

We used to have a State Route 666 in our state. Didn't bother me but, they did change it a few years ago. People used to call it 'The Devil's Highway'.

I am okay with Friday the 13th. I am not superstitious.

NO, not supersticous here, either. Makes me laugh when you go into a building that "doesn't" have a 13th floor, just goes from 12 right to 14, um, the floor after the 12th is STILL the 13th, right???

I had a friend who was supersticous, and she did some pretty silly things, IMO.

I'm not too superstitious, but for the longest time on my drive to and from work, I'd see a house for sale. A really nice looking house and all that, but I was curious cause it was up for sale FOREVER. Then I happened to see the house number on the mailbox....666 ! Now I know why it was on the market for so long!

Yikes lock the doors . Although I tend more toward reason my family especially my maternal grandmother are very supersticious so I usually follow the rules just in case....no walking under ladders, no black cats crossing my path, no rocking the chair or a swing with no one in it, no opening umbrellas in the house, leave through the same door through which you entered and ESPECIALLY no turning around when leaving for a long road trip...whatever you forgot you can buy another one when you get where you're going. My practical side says its all rather silly but i hate to take the chance.

Bad things always come in three's and this is always the case in my family if something bad happends you better be keeping a look out especially death's my family never experiences one death within a short time there's always three or multiples of three (that's when its really bad).
Then there are the teeth dreams that really freak me out. When something bad is going to happen i dream that my teeth (though sometimes only 1 its often many) fall out. just teeth falling out aren't really conclusive but if there is blood too,,,,that's a sure sign that we are going to lose someone. I hate those dreams. they terrify me. I didn't know what they meant when iwas young but i remember telling my mom about one and she started asking all kinds of questions after she told me what they meant i started to keep track of them on a calendar. Maybe its not real but otherwise there are some freaky coincidences.


However in recognition of it being friday the 13th i think we'll rent some scarier movies tonight. just for fun!

The only thing I did do was when a bill came to 666 iI bought something to chang it. I really dont think the day bothers me though.

I agree ethena! I was thinking the same thing.
Guess it's like all of the days that the kids get out of school. We never got out of school, even if it was 5 foot of snow, now the kids get out if rains or if they just wanna have a day off!

I never really let it bother me about Friday the 13th, but the last 3 bad things have happened. My best friends niece died at the age of 6 in a car accident driven by another parent (really upsetting), my son's car was totaled in a bad rain storm that crippled our area on Sept. 13th (freaky) with tons of cars flooded, and yesterday my other son's car had a flat tire (I can deal with that). I hope we are finished now with that totally 3.

I have a black cat, and love him, but my background says they're lucky anyway. This one survived a really horrific accident, so I suppose the luck worked for him. I'm not personally worried about that date, just the people who give meaning to it. I'm talking about gangs and kids who look for trouble on any date that has any bad reputation, like Halloween.

I think part of the reason they changed the number was because people kept stealing the route signs.

As far as superstition, nah, not here.
I can get in enough trouble on my own without the help of outside forces.
