What a wonderful grandmothere!!!

Yesterday a friend told a story about her friend and her 3 year old grandson.
The friend, I will call her Grandma, loves and collects porcelen angels and has lots of them.
One day during an outside family get together, Grandson went into the house to go to the bathroom.
He was gone quite a while so Grandma went inside to see what he was doing.
She passed a wastebasket near a row of angels on a table and saw broken pieces of porcelin in it.
She looked at the nearby angels and found that each one had one wing broken off of it.
She asked Grandson if he had done it and he said yes.
She asked why and he said, "I did it so they couldn't fly away and make you cry."
At this point, I almost cried!
Grandmother didn't tell his parents and has them in a box in the attic with Grandson's name on it.
She included a letter to him telling the story and telling him that they were so special to her because of how he had tried to 'save' them for her.

Reading this now makes me think that it sounds like one of those stories that go around online every so often. I hope it isn't because I have a lot of respect for the lady who told the story and would hate to find out she wasn't truthful.

That is great and doesn't surprise me. We grandmas really love our grandchildren.

I have a special needs grandchild.
He broke an antique bowl and pitcher when he was 3 and I was not angry at him. I loved him a lot more than any antique.
