Should I?

Posted in wrong place! HELP! Can you move it to THE CAFE?

My DH has a mustache.
We have been married for 30 years and I have never seen him without it.
Should I ask him to shave it off so I can see what he looks like? (He has said he would)
Or should I just let it be and go to my grave (not planning on this anytime soon, mind you) never knowing?
I do like facial hair (on men!). My bro has had a beard for "forever" and my 41 year old son has had one since he was 14.

I want to see DH without and yet I am almost afraid to for some dumb reason!
I know it could be grown back, but.................
What would you do?

PS.
PM me for a picture if you'd like.

My DH has had a mustache FOREVER too! He shaved it one time about 2 years ago and looks TERRIBLE! It looked like he was sucking his upper lip in, very unnatural and it was so pale because that skin hadn't seen the sun for over 15 years. So he grew it back in about 2 weeks.

Now over the winter he grew a full beard to go with it. After the beard was in, he shaved everything (including the mustache) but left a long goatee and I really like it. He looks younger and I finally got used to the no mustache.

Try it, it'll at least be good for a laugh and people won't be able to figure out what looks different. I'll see if I can find pictures.

Edit for pics:

I don't like facial hair so I would say shave it off! It can always be grown back

My cousin's DH had a mustache and beard FOREVER and he FINALLY shaved it off 5 years ago. He looks 10 years younger...much better

My Dh wears a goatee six months out of the year and goes bare the other six months. He looks sexy both ways! If you've never seen what he looks like without it, I would want to see!!

Have you ever had a bad haircut? If it looked terrible it grew out and no harm no foul. So, can your DHs mustache!! I say LOOK!

ok, I am not a hairy guy kind of person-though an occasional goatee will not go unnoticed by me...Have him shave it...go for it. Perhaps you can have it shaved through a charity fundraiser? Like, ask people to donate enough $$, for a good cause, and if the $$ is raised, it will be shaved?

I say leave it alone. I have been married for 23 years and have never seen him without his mustache. He has had it about as long as your dh. I'm afraid of what he would look like without it. LOL

Talking

Flipper, I like the mustache better than the goatee. That goatee is one of those that I tell DH, "it wouldn't do for that man to sleep in my bed, cause he'd wake up without that hair". LOL

I like my hubby better with his mustache and goatee, to me he looks like a baby without it lol. I love him either way though.

Try it once, he can always grow it back.

DH will have fun reading in the morning!

What I meant by it all was that men can grow it back SO easily and change their look, not like us women. One bad haircut and it's hard to get it back to the way it was, KWIM?

The scarey one is the one with NO facial hair?! YIKES!

I had to laugh. My ex shaved his face one day after probably 10 or 15 years of marriage. I had never seen his face. Yuck, he had a weak chin. I told him to regrow the beard. (His mother was crushed- but then she was crushed about everything in life- but that is another story) It only took a couple of weeks and the hair was back FOREVER. (I am sure this wife has never seen his face either).

flipper, your dh is ADORABLE!!! I love, LOVE that type of mustache!! (wish dh could grow one like that ) My dh has always has that '5 day stubble' going on (I even made sure he didn't shave for our wedding!) which I love as well. Now he does shave it all off when he has important meetings at work or when he travels for work...and then it's weird to look at him. He has his dad's upper lip which does NOT look good shaved! LOL But pretty much he always has facial hair. Now if I could just get him to grow some CHEST hair I'd be all set!

jm19, I guess I vote for keeping the mustache!

Shave it and see what it looks like! If you dont like it, it would only take a few weeks to grow back you dont want to go through life wondering when its sooo easy to know
