We have some of these and I found this on the internet. Basically the number of bands depends on the weight of the user. See Below. I have the directions somewhere around here, but they are basically the same as below. Good Luck
The potential “moon walker” is instructed to place a foot (wearing a laced shoe) in each platform, making sure that the heel of the shoe is firmly positioned against the heel of the platform. The Velcro straps are fastened over the shoe. Now the person is free to jump around on these mini trampolines. Ideally, the tension in the straps is such that the platform stretches as far as possible without touching the floor. You can adjust the tension by adding another set of rubber bands or removing a set. The weight limits call for 1 set of bands for 60 lbs. or less, 2 sets for 60-100 lbs., 3 sets for 100-130 lbs., 4 sets for 130-160 lbs., and 5 or more sets for 160-180 lbs. The overall weight limit for using the Moon Shoes is 180 lbs. and shoe size maximum is men’s size 9.
Assembly Required – NOT Recommended for Arthritis Sufferers
The Moon Shoes come unassembled in three basic pieces – base, shoe platform (with Velcro straps), and black rubber bands. The platform has to be attached to the base by threading the rubber bands and hooking them to the base. The directions caution that the stretched rubber bands can be dangerous and to hold them away from your eyes when hooking them up. Man, they aren’t kidding about these bands being tight! I was shocked when I started to put this together and realized how hard I had to work to hook them over the pegs. I have mild to moderate arthritis in both thumbs and my hands were throbbing after just one set of bands. Fortunately, only one set was required for my 55 lb. daughter. However, her 10-year-old brother just HAD to try these cool shoes out, too. He weighs right around 100 lbs. so I had to add another set of straps. It went little smoother once I knew what I was doing but it still wasn’t easy. I told my son that he would have to put on and take off the extra straps in the future. A couple of tries at this convinced him that he didn’t want to play with these shoes THAT badly. Theoretically, I should be able to use these Moon Shoes, too, since I’m easily in the weight zone. However, the thought of adding two more sets of straps has discouraged any further plans in that direction.
