First let me say I am married to the most wonderful man on this earth. He is kind loyal and a great father who will do anything for his family including working 3 jobs right now.
Well my Dad the other night for no reason (I was there!) went off on my poor husband. Told him all his jobs are worthless and just really ransacked him to death. My husband handled himself like a perfect 10 and I am so proud because if my in-laws ever treated me like that I would have got up and walked away.
He told him he doesn't make enough money and that I shouldn't have to work. Now mind you we live in a
very nice house kids travel every year to carribean with us and these grandparent. Now mind you yes we would have a bigger bank account if we did nothing and didn't have a child in college etc. but I am so hurt that we are building a business and hubbie works during the night for the health insurance and then works on a Saturday for a little extra cash.
This is just so mean and my Mother was so upset at my Dad. He said how he worked harder and his jobs were harder etc. Just had to vent I am so mad. It;s hard when you grow up thinking Daddy is your universe and then this. Just had to vent this off

I'm sorry about your dad! Mine did something similar when I was first dating my husband. My dad didn't like the fact he was hispanic and said that other guys will not marry me knowing I dated a hispanic guy, and he wouldn't have married my mom if he knew that she dated a hispanic guy. He's mellowed since then, but it's always had an affect on the way I see him now. Words hurt and can't ever be taken back.

You know I love my Dad so much and can't understand sometimes what sets him off. He is very overweight and I think frustrated sometimes. My hubbie is lean at 165lbs and maybe this aggravates him. The problem is you can't keep being forgiven because you have these moments. Other people have feelings too. So confused
