Question anybody given/attended bridal shower brunch

DD is getting married October 6 and the bridal party is considering a brunch at a hotel for the shower.

I think it sounds great, but I'm wondering if anybody here has given one or attended a brunch.

If so, what time was the brunch? They're thinking about 11:00 or 12:00 on a Sunday.

Did you enjoy the brunch -- or would you have preferred a lunch? Did you feel like most of the guests enjoyed the brunch?

Thanks for any input.

I have been to many bridal shower luncheons, but only one bridal shower brunch. The brunch was held at a large country club, in a room overlooking the gardens. There was glass windows on 3 sides. There were over 100 women there. I preferred the brunch over the luncheons. This was very lovely and intimate, despite the number of people attending. I believe it was held at 1:00 PM on a Sunday.

A bridal shower brunch sounds like a wonderful idea. I would just be concerned about having it on a Sunday though. Do you think it might interfere with anyone attending church? I know that around here, most people don't get home from church until 11:00 - 12:00. I would just hate to make someone rush from church to get to brunch, not attend church because of the brunch, or decline the invitation to the shower. If that's not a concern, then it sounds great!

Geez, thank you so much.

I can't believe we forgot about church!

I would never want anyone to miss church for a shower so we will definitely be changing the shower to a luncheon -- at a later time.

I would think that you could still call it "brunch" and have it at 1:00pm on Sunday. WOuld that work? I just love the idea of a brunch!!!

If not, I'd try to switch to Saturday, and go back to the 12:00 time.

We just went to baby shower brunch this weekend. I personally prefer lunch over breakfast stuff. Ours was at 12:30. Lasted too damn long too.

Personally I think it depends on the bride. To me a brunch sounds older, if the bride is a little older it sounds good but if the bride is in her 20's or so, I just think it sounds old.

I've been to both and planned both, I personally like the lunch but honestly it all depends on the bride and what she likes.

brunch is normally 11am

Thanks for the input.

We decided to go for the luncheon since we couldn't have a brunch until later because of church.

Since most people eat breakfast before going to church, they probably wouldn't enjoy eating "another" breakfast
