Natural Balance recalls venison dog, cat foods - CNN.com
Another posh brand's got melamine in it. I'm so sick of this.

Every time I see another post or article on this subject my stomach and heart sink. I hope my dogs' and cat's foods do not end up on these lists eventually. They seem okay but who knows?

My heart also skips a beat when I read this. We use Pedigree Dry for the dogs and Iams Indoor Weight and Hairball Control Dry for the cat.

My sister used Hills Science Diet for her cats and found out about the recall of it from this board (well from me and I found out from the boards). By posting on here you have saved at least 2 cats.

my dog food and cat foods were o.k. but then walmart pulled olroy beef sticks from the shelves and my 2 labs have been eating them for 6 years. so i`m watching them closley.nancy

I can't believe this. I'm getting so scared by all of this. I just hope what I feed my "Annie" won't show up on the list. Thanks for the info.

My dog was having alot of gas so I took her off the chicken & rice and started feeding her science diet again... I about flip out when I read the news the other day and they said it is in the rice protein This was posted on science diet website today.. From my understanding they use rice protein in 4 products and neither is from the supplier involved in the recall..

Kindness can heal a Broken Heart

It just doesn't seem to be getting better. I think, for now, I'm going to be putting my kitties on the no-grain Innova food. I can do that because DH and I both work, and don't have kids. I have no idea how people who aren't at least comfortably off, and who don't check the internet constantly are supposed to keep their pets safe. This is crazy.

I had alot of confidence in my cats brand, Natural Balance. Now the Venison and green pea flavor is recalled- my cats eat another flavor of it but I am now witholding that. If Fancy feast gets recalled, I'm in big trouble, because that is the only food my cats really like. We have two feral cats at work that we are caring for- so alot of different people are feeding them alot of different things. I really worry about them, because if one got sick, we probably wouldn't know it.
