Red face How to stop the dog from eating peaches

Ok, we have two black labs, 10 months old. One of them is starting to eat the peaches off one of our trees. He jumps up pulls the lower branches down with his mouth , holds the branches down with his paws and eats off the baby peaches. I am not really worried about the peaches we have 2 trees and there are tons of baby peaches on them. I am more worried about this possibly being harmful to the dog? It seems like I heard somewhere that the pits were not good to eat? Anybody know for sure? I was thinking if they are harmful, mabey I should just pick off all the ones on the lower branches? I just don't want him to get sick or get diarrhea or something. The other dog doesn't do it, she just watches him.

From what I found on the web peach pits can be toxic to animals..I would pick the peaches off the lower branches so he can'e eat them.

Labs! My lab eats the walnuts from our trees. Two years ago she swallowed 3 whole walnuts in their husks, they are the size of a tennis ball! She was blocked but the vets got them moving with meds. The pits are toxic but hard to digest if they are whole. They may just pass if not bitten. Good Luck!

I really don't know. Your dog jumps and pulls them right off the tree? Aside from cutting a few branches, I'm not sure. Let us know what you come up with.

Years ago, I had a yorkie that ate apples. I didn't think much of it, but when she got a little older, she was mysteriously ill. It turned out she had a blood sugar condition, and was prescribed special dogfood that was only available at the vet office (very expensive too). Her new diet gave her around 3 more years, but she only lived to be around 7 or 8 years old. I do not know if the apples had anything at all to do with her blood sugar condition later on, but I guess it's a possibility.
