Smile Finally getting warm here! Favorite ice cream???

80 degrees this weekend, and the kids are all about ice cream and water ice here!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

If fat, calories, etc. are no consideration, what is your favorite ice cream treat? Toppings?

We have water ice stores everywhere...is it the same where you live? Do you prefer water ice, ice cream, sherbet, custard?

I'm soooooo glad it's finally warming up! It snowed here last Sunday and yesterday it was 83. Crazy weather!
My favorite ice cream right now is a tie between Breyer's- Fried Ice Cream and Blue Bunny- Bunny Tracks. I just can't decide which I like better LOL

Favorite ice cream? All
I hate to discriminate.
Ok you have hit on my downfall. I love ice cream. It can be the dead of winter, wrapped in a blanket, complaining to get the heat turned up and I will still eat ice cream.
Right now I am on a Moose (bunny) Tracks kick.

Please tell me- what is water ice??????????

I have a new favorite ice cream- if you are a coffee lover, you will enjoy this. Hood New England Creamery Rhode Island Light house flavor. It is a richly flavored coffee ice cream with light house shaped chocolate pieces in it with a coffee flavored center. You could say it has almost too many candies in it- though I have never thrown any out. It is so good.

Oh man, I am right there with ya! I love ice cream! My all time favorite is Baskin Robbins J'mocha Almond Fudge in a sugar cone.

There's not too many I'd turn away unless they have cherries or coconut in them!

I've been wanting to try their ice cream, it's nice to hear of someone that's been there.

As far as regular ice cream, either Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby or Mayfield's Chocolate Cream Pie.

Sometimes I'm just really happy with either those freezer pops or plain popcicles - brings back memories of me and my friends sitting on Grandma and Grampa's back porch, eating some after a hot afternoon of playing.

My latest favorite is Edy's " Take the cake" ice cream. Its one of the American Idol themed flavors and its also one of the Slow Churned flavors so its *only* 120 calories per serving. It tastes like Yellow cake with frosting and sprinkles!

Water ice..sometimes I forget some of this stuff is regional!

Water ice is just shaved ice flavored with cherry, chocolate, etc. Some places use cream to make it, and my kids like it, but it is not for me.

I am with all the rasberry lovers, too. My dad worked for Breyers for 40 plus years, so I am not a huge ice cream eater. I think I ate my lifetime quota as a kid! I do like chocolate shakes, and anything that is rasberry and vanilla.

To further age myself, I remember very clearly my father's response when Breyer's (which at that time was really the only premium ice cream in the market) raised it's price to $1.99 a half-gallon. All his salesmen were certain it was the end of the company, because they could not imagine anybody would pay $2 for ice cream!

Water ice is different than a snow cone. (It is so funny to me to explain this! Water ice is such a huge part of life around here!)

I guess the best way to explain is that a snow cone is similar to little bits of ice squirted with flavor. Water ice (or Italian ice as it is sometimes called in Philadelphia) is smoother. The consistency is very different, and is uniform. It does not have the crunchiness of snowcones. It is creamier.

Now I have to tell you about gelatis! A gelati is a layer of water ice, a layer of soft ice cream and another layer of water ice. My kids love these.

Vanilla ice cream, mini-chocolate chips and caramel!!!!! YUMMY!!
That is actually my one and only favorite, and you have to go to a mix-in place to get it or you can make it yourself. I've done both!! Good either way!

Talking HOMEMADE ice cream

LOVE homemade ice cream. There is nothin better!

I mean, get out the churning bucket, the ice salt, milk, eggs, peaches, etc. ~ That is so delicious!!

Of homemade ice cream, my favorite is Peach or Banana.

I have tried all kinds, but you just cant buy anything even close to homemade.
Dang! I may have to make some this evening!

Since I have had Gastric Bypass, I haven't had ice cream in two years. Didn't eat it much before but loved a creamy chocolate shake. DD loves Rita's Gelati, Dh will eat pretty much any flavor ice cream, but I was always a sucker for Dairy Queen's Hot fudge Brownie Delight when we went there.

Two faves here lately though have been Ben and Jerry's Dublin Mudslide and Black and Tan.

Butter Pecan and Choc Chip Cookie Dough...I'm not particular on brand...just about any brand in those flavors.

And although we do not have a 7-11 in our town, there's nothing finer than an actual real live slurpee in to cool you off on a hot summer day. Yum!

My favorite ice cream is no longer made. Ben & Jerry's Wavy Gravy....OMG, easily the best ice cream EVER. But since they sent that flavor to the graveyard, I force myself to eat Moose Tracks. (yeah I know, tough sacrifice ain't it? )

Oh I used to LOVE Wavy Gravy! Now I have Heath in my freezer and that is very delicious. But when I set calories aside, I love to make chocolate chip cookies and while they are still warm, add a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and whipped cream on top! SO, SO good! I also love to have chocolate peanut butter shakes made with vanilla ice cream, hershey's syrup and peanut butter. YUM! Great, now I have the craving!

Not so big on ice cream anymore. I used to work at Baskin-Robbins as a teenager and I could never get enough. I guess if I had to pick a favorite, it would be BR pistachio almond, or maybe pralines and cream. Or their Rocky Road is pretty good, with hot fudge, whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. I just can't handle all the sugar anymore.

We had a Marble Slab Creamery open not too long ago. It's kind of like a Coldstone, but way better (they have a lot more flavors of ice cream and it just tastes a lot better). DH and I went there over the weekend and I think I have a new favorite. I had Birthday Cake ice cream with a brownie mixed in. It was so good!

I also love Blue Bell Banana Split ice cream and Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk ice cream. I can always find something I like at Baskin Robbins too.

DH is so funny - he will sometimes ask to sample a flavor, but he almost always gets chocolate.

Kroger's Private Selection, the one with chocolate and cherries.
Ehlers Butter Pecan

I love chocolate sodas, but they are hard to find.
I would never turn down a chocolate malt or a banana split.

I'm home alone and without a car!
Whoever started this had better show up here soon with a big bowl of ice cream!!!
