What are some of your favorite activities to do with your kids over the summer?

or places to go to over the summer?

We enjoy going to baseball games and going to the beach. Now that my kids are getting older, I am finding less and less that they will agree on.

My kids love the outdoor pool at the Y. It's like a mini water park, and it's open to the public for a small fee if you aren't a member. We also love the zoo, and the Children's Museum. There's also Bounce U or Pump it Up, Carowinds, Old Salem, SciWorks, Wet and Wild, and Warthogs Baseball.

For free stuff, lots of our friends have pools, The science center has freebie Wednesdays, there's VBS, there's storytime at the library and B&N. And there's Hanging Rock State Park (Makes a nice day when you add a picnic in!).

We usually pick one thing a week that costs something, and one freebie thing.

Here in the Charlotte area, most of the movie theaters have free kids movies each week. They are not first run movies, but so what? Many times, there are movies that we never got a chance to see. These are usually shown Tues-Wed-Thurs at 10 am. We usually smuggle in our own concessions. We also have a pool in our neighborhood. We might go to Chuck E Cheese ONE time during the summer (I hate that place!). Like the other poster, there is VBS and we have a membership to Discovery Place (science museum, somewhat) so we will do that. They are going to have a new exhibit starting in June.

I still need to figure it out, they'll be out in just SEVEN short weeks!

putt putt golf is fun. My kids like that. We hang out in the pool a lot, too, go for bike rides, fishing, little picnics. We try to get in some craft stuff, too.

We
Go to the zoo
Take a ride on Amtrak (short ride-like two hours each way) and then picnic and walk around the town we arrived at)
Lots of park afternoons
Camping
Library visits for their story times and free activities

We love to spend time in the back yard, swimming, playing, tending the garden.....Cousins live nearby and they are always playing with each other and I usually have one overnight a couple times a week...

IN the evening we'll go out and try and catch fireflies....the kids have a mesh like cage we put them in.....after we're done we let them all go!!

Somedays we'll go to the movies, to the park, grandma's.......somedays we'll just stay home and swim all day.....LOVE the summer!!!

This is actually the first time I'll be taking the boys on a vacation....we're going to NY with my parents for a couple weeks....I dont think I could do a long trip with just me...It'll be nice to have my parents helping with the kids too!!

Geocaching takes up most weekends. I take them to the skateboard park occasionally. We have a pool, so they spend a lot of time in it with the neighbor kids. Then we vacation for at least 1 week and if I can sneak them in we have a couple of weekend getaways.

My 4 are 16 to 24. We enjoy our pool, shopping, cookouts. Short hour away weekend trips and 1 week at the beach every other year.
