If you had a million dollars name 5 things you would do with it?

Mine would be

1. Give to family
2. Invest
3. Donate money to needy children in the school corporation to make sure they had necessities like winter coats and gloves etc. I have seen kids with no coats and it is heartbreaking. I have also witnessed a child in the dead of winter with bare feet, grandfather was buying her a pair of shoes with his last $5.
4. Adopt 3 families at Christmas time
5. Help out a friend so that she would be able to stay at home with her kids instead of having to work.

1. I'd buy you a house
2. Buy you furniture for your house. Maybe a nice Chesterfield or an ottoman
3. I'd buy you a fur coat - but not a real fur coat, that's cruel
4. I'd buy you some art, a Picasso or a Garfunkel
5. I'd buy you a green dress, but not a real green dress that's cruel

Ok, I couldn't resist quoting one of my favorite songs, "If I Had a Million Dollars" by Barenaked Ladies

1. I would set up trust accounts for my 3 kids
2. buy a house
3. pay off all my debts and my boyfriend's too
4. Buy a new car.. something cute and sporty
5. Have the wedding of my dreams and hopefully have enough to pay Bon Jovi to be there to sing the song for our first dance. I would love to have the band do the entire wedding but i think that may cost too much so just the first dance song would be cool

A million before or after taxes???

1) Pay off the little debt I have, along with my parents...Honestly my brothers have always had someone bail them out I WOULD NOT give them any money....but instead look at #5

2)Invest so that My children and I could have money for the rest of our lives....

3)Donate LOCALLY, there are so many things that is needed right here close by... This town could use a nice park for the kids!!

4)I wouldn't buy a new house, BUT would love to put aside some $$ to fix up and redecorate this house, along with buying STUFF for us...Not a lot just about 10,000 would do...

5)ALL kids...my children along with my nephews and step niece...(dont have many, small family) I'd set up a trust fund...Maybe 50,000 each, something they can have waiting for them when they hit a certain age...could really help with college, a house, start of the grownup life......(see my brothers wont get any of it, but know their children will be getting some)

You all would be so generous with found money! Not me!

1 - Fund DS1 college tuition: $200k
2 - Fund DS2 college tuition: $225K
3 - Build & furnish summer/retirement home: $350K
4 - Boob job & tummy tuck: $25k
5 - Invest the rest for earlier retirement: $200K

By the way, $1M isn't that much anymore.

[quote=VAlerie251;2790632]A million before or after taxes???

After taxes it would probably only be 1/2 and in CA that would hardly buy a small home or condo. So I will pretend it is after taxes. LOL

1. Pay off my house and credit cards.
2. Completely re-do my house inside and out.
3. Buy a second car.
4. Put away for college for 3 children.
5. Invest so that one day my children may be able to afford a house in CA and not have to move out of state..
