Home Owner's Insurance Question....

Anyone in the business of HomeOwner's Insurance???

Is there a database the insurer's run your name thru to see if you have ever filed a claim, or been sued??? Just wondering what happens if your insurance company drops you , when you try to get other insurance.

Thanks.

P.S. No, we haven't been dropped. Long story, not to be shared right now. Thanks.

It may depend what state you are in.
When I sold home owners insurance, 8 yrd ago in New York- we considered prior claims and credit score but
I do not believe lawsuits were included and you could have claims but it would depend on credit, kind of claim and if it was a completly different house you were insuring. So, a host of factors came into to play.

Being dropped by a company, also has a state by state rule.

feel free to email me, if you have any other questions- I can try to find out your states rules

Depends on your state and situation but yes, agents/companies can see prior history/claims etc with other companies. Credit score also matters. Best thing is to check your state laws -
