Wow they all give it their all last night! I loved the theme. Chris was okay, Melinda was excellent, Blake did very good, Lakisha was pretty good, I think she should of chose a different song, Phil really threw me for a loop, country is his thing, but the best of the night was JORDIN! My Goodness that girl can SING! Sent chills up my spine and had my eyes tearing.

My kids and I have decided that now instead of voting for everyone that we thought was good that night....(basically everyone but Sanjaya), we have picked two and that's the only two we will be voting for until the end. If they leave, we'll start with someone else.

My bottom 3 tonight:

Lakisha (AND she was my favorite)
Chris (he was okay but he's been in the bottom 3 too much)
and
Phil (he's also been in the bottom 3 too many times)

I thought Chris rocked the house! I also thought Melinda did very good. Jordin was good too, it was a tough call between her and Melinda. Didn't care for Lakisha at all, and I thought Phil did ok, not as good as Chris tho. I was SO shocked by Blake's performance....I didn't think that song was the best suited for him (he did sing it alright, just didn't thrill me like the past weeks).

I think that Chris may go home tonight. It wasn't that he was bad, it just wasn't memorable in my opinion.

If I had my way my bottom 3 would be

Lakisha-because I am just not impressed with her
Chris-He did a great job last night but his other weeks haven't impressed me.
Melinda-Because she is too much of a threat lol (sorry I am a Jordin fan)

I really hope Lakisha goes home, I have had enough.

I really want to see Jordin win the whole thing, for her age and talent I think she is great and I would like to see a young one make it. But then on the other hand she might be better off getting a deal elsewhere.

I don't think Blake will win.

Lakisha, though amazing, has sung three former idol songs and the first, she blew everyone out of the water with (Hudson), the second she was warned don't do it(Underwood), and tonight...third times a charm she just may be the one going home (Barrino) though Chris deserves to go home...he is like nails on a chalkboard to me! He did awful last night. I think all the judges were smoking something before they came on the show because they said he did well. I believe if they relisten to the taped show, they will see in fact, he is terrible!
My thoughts on Jordin are she is going far and is already a star...she has the "it" factor and if she gets voted off, she will be a "Chris Daughtry" where she knocks the idol winner off the charts! She's beautiful, down-to-earth, young, spuky, and can sing. Though I personally thought the actual song she sang was extremely boring, I believe she did a fabulous rendition of it!
Blake...have you ever noticed when he sings he looks like he is missing his dentures? It drives me nuts. I can't watch him sing. Though his voice is definatley a one-hit wonder to say the least...maybe he will do a few records and live off his stardom but I don't think he will make it very far in the music business.
Melinda...awesome but old. She may have the "Taylor Hicks Syndrome" where she has the votes of all the older generations that watch the show (40 plus) but as I pointed out to my mother in law, Taylor Hicks lost his fan base when he won the show. She says she has never heard him on any of the stations she listens to well, duh! She listens to oldies, christian, and talk radio. Taylor has been heard on adult contemporary and top 40 stations but has done poorly because he has no listeners anymore! Even Katherine McPhee had a #1 single last week...she had all the teen votes and the young men...Daughtry should have won but losing was the best thing that happened to him.
Back to Melinda, if you are going to listen to her, support her, if not, don't vote! You may be setting her up for failure! She is an awesome artist but I don't think she will do well if she wins idol.
I agree with all that Phil is a country singer...the fact that Simon recognizes this is awesome! Simon hates the country genre.

I was late joining the show last night and missed Chris. But based on performances to date, I think he's the one that deserves to be leaving tonight.

I wondered if the mostly positive comments from the judges had anything to do with the theme of the night? Maybe trying to keep it somewhat more upbeat "for the cause". Both my DH & I thought about that while watching last night...because my DH also thought Chris was awful. LOL I thought he did WAY better than last week but it still wasn't all that great to me...and I tend to agree with Simon more times than not.

Rumor has it...though it's probably NOT true---Nobody will go home. In the spirit
of giving, they are giving back to the idols. They will combine votes from last night
and next week's performance and send two home next week.

I think that would be cool....But, I don't know if I can see that happening!
