Question Do you belong to any book clubs?

I used to be in both Literary Guild and Mystery Guild but it's been a few years. I've been looking at both Literary Guild and Doubleday's websites and although Doubleday seems to have a larger selection, they also seem to be more expensive! Their listed "member's prices" were $3 to $4 higher than the Guild.

Which ones do you belong to and how do you like them? Is shipping more reasonable at one or the other?

TIA!!!

I belong to Doubleday and PaperbackSwap.com. Doubleday has specials occassionally. For the last few months I have been getting an email that all their books are 9.99. PaperbackSwap.com is free, you are simply swapping books you have for books you want. They have a very large selection also.

I belong to the stephen King book club. Everytime a new book comes out I am automatically sent that book. Of course you have to like Stephen King.

Zooba Book Club: All Books only $9.95 each with Free Shipping.

Every book is $9.95 and that includes shipping. You just set up your reading list and they ship one book a month. You can go in and change the order of your list, add, remove, and you can also order books in addition to whatever's on your list. I've been totally happy with them.

Does the library count? I get all of my DVD's, books, and books on tape at our local library.

They have an online card catalog and you can place holds on the books... they will send you an email when your books are ready to pick up at the front desk.

This is a county-wide interlibrary loan and they usually have absolutely everything that I want/need.

Thanks........these are some great ideas for my reading list. I'll have to check out the paperbackswap place and Zooba.

I'm planting a garden and doing some landscaping to replace my Katrina damaged plants, also interested in growing and using herbs...........that's why I was thinking book clubs. But I can probably find out all I need to know at the library!!

Thanks again.......
