Pizza How much do you pay for it??

I am lazy today just don't feel like making dinner, I called my local Pizza place no answer. They have really big pizzas and only need to order one for $13.xx. Okay, then I called the back up place, $27.64 for 2 pizzas!! I said no thanks and went out and picked up Happy Meals for the kids.

How much do you pay for pizza?? I am a displaced New Yorker so I love really good pizza can not eat Pizza Hut or Papa Johns or any of those chain places. I guess I am a pizza snob!

Papa Johns: I have a local school discount card and get a buy one get one free

Chicago Times: THE best pizza BUT it's like $15-$16 each pizza with no discounts We need 2 at least. They also do take and bakes for $13 each and they are much better than Papa Murphy's. They are local and the pizza is fab (oh, good gyros too). Once you get away from the chains, it's $$$ to get pizza

Our fav place that is super good is 10.99 for a big ole 18", add 1.95 per topping...we do cheese or one topping. Of course there is always Dominos at 5.00 each for mediums, that is emergency pizza or for parties, etc. where the kids don't like the good stuff.

I have no idea what we pay individually. We usually order 3, 1 with everything and 2 with 2 toppings. For all 3 it is just under $30.00.

We hardly go out for pizza I am so picky-no enriched flour, no meat, no this no that so we usually make our own, have frozen or go to Bene Pizza it's about $20 for a really big one that we can eat half and take half home.

I think its cheaper if we make our own, although sometimes we dont have the time. so we either go with a pizza from Sams which is $8.99 or we have a place called Papa Murphys, and its great, you buy your pizza and take it home to bake in your own oven. They make them in front of you fresh, and we can get a pepperoni large pizza for $5.99 depending on the specials.

dominos down the street has a carryout special every day 5.99 large pizza with one topping I lectured one of the kids for calling dominos delivery the other day, like $11 for a medium, told them we coul dhave had twice as much for half the price
there's also a chain called nick and willy's that has large take and bake pizza for about $6 apiece, i only had it once or twice but we all thought it was great -

All we have here are franchise places. So it's Pizza Hut for us. Large meat lovers $10. Every once in a while we'll do Cici's buffet, $20. Pizza has gotten so expensive, it's just not our eat out choice much.

I love Pizza Hut, but that gets way too expensive feeding the six of us. Usually, if we do take-out, we have Little Caesars-$5 for a large one-topping. Not the best pizza, but it makes the kids happy.

Costco is good but not sure of the price.

I usually can make my own so easily and quicker/cheaper then any of them can...

We pay approximately $10 per person when we eat out each Friday night (not pizza) though so it makes up for it!

Little Ceaser's pepperoni = $5 or the meat pizza is $7
The Marco's up at the corner usually has some delivery deal and I can feed us for $20

We have a local place here (well, it's not local anymore since I live in the country ) that has THE BEST pizza around. They only carry small and large sizes, but the small is 8 pieces and only costs $5.99. When dh and I lived 2 minutes from the place we'd get pizza once a week. I think our most expensive pizza there (and we loaded it up) cost about $9.00....if that!

Now we do have a local place out near us (10+ minutes away) and their pizza is ok.........but they keep raising their prices (not sure why, the food isn't THAT good)....I think a small (6 pieces) now costs $10.+ Sooooo not worth it!

we used to get Papa Ginos every Friday for around $10 less 2 printable coupon (from their website).

For months now, though, we've been getting the frozen (Freschette, CPKs, etc..) for around $6 (at most).

That'd be for just the 2 of us. (or maybe 2/3 of the kids get a slice each...) and one that gets make your own.

$10 seems reasonable though for a large pizza.

Delivery? No way. Tipping? Forget it.

Jason

Costco's are good. The take and bake are $7.99 and so huge they barely fit in my oven. The cooked ones are $9.99.

We don't buy pizza much. I have a good friend that works at Pizza Hut and he gets to make pizza's every night with the leftover dough. He brings us a couple pizza's once or twice a week for free!

When we do buy, I like Old Chicago's Double Deckeroni pizza. It's so good, but very expensive. $15 for a small. I don't know how much a large is. That's something DH and I will do on a date night.

No place around here makes really good pizza- so we usually make our own. In fact, that is what we are having tonight!!!! We have a local supermarket that makes a huge sheet pizza on Fridays for $10. It has 40 pieces!!!! I don't think it is so great, but my kids and all their friends like it so we do that alot- especially in the summer. Every once ina while we drive over to the pizza place in our old neighborhood- we moved over 11 years ago, to get our favorite pizza. A medium that feeds four with a few couple of pieces left over is about $17. And they still remember us!

~ Welcome to Casa Mia Italian Restaurant ~

THE BEST pizza! This is where we go when we want pizza.

We alternate between 1 large or 2 mediums. Depending on what kind DH wants.

He always gets the salad with shrimp and we always get an order of garlic bread too.

For the 3 of us, our bill can go as high as $30, depending on what we order. But it is a splurge. And soooo worth it!!

I'm a Chicago girl, born and raised. I don't do "fast food" pizza....so, it cost me about $20 for a decent pizza. But, if I want to save money, I will go for the Costo Pizza. I isn pretty good...
