Snakes..Snakes..Snakes

Snakes..Snakes..Snakes (Ok...Guys today, RIGHT beside my side entrance door to my house THERE were 4 baby snakes, my dh is in MD, so I called "Hired Killers" and asked what they would charge to come out and repell them...$125 is the charge, so I did'nt want to pay that..so off to Walmart I go..I bought a big thing of "Snake-A-WAY" for $14.72 and 4 boxes of month balls. I have been putting this stuff around my house today and not only will it repell the snakes ( I hope) but it will repell humans too....It stinks so bad lol, Christine R, SC

Be careful with moth balls. I hope you don't have any kids around.

I would face an attacker before I would take on a snake. I fear them more than anything. I can at least try to reason with an attacker. Good Luck! At least Ohio has limited snakes and usually not in popylated suburban areas!

I used to be afraid of snakes until this happened......
When I was a kid, my sister, a younger friend and I were out playing in our yard, which was close to a woods. We found this snake and wanted to get it out of our play area so our little friend (i bet she was 6 or so) got it on this long stick (I think she smacked it a few times). So it was hanging on this stick and this neighbor lady comes running over and starts yelling at us about how beneficial snakes are to her garden (?) and as she was yelling the snake slowly slithered over the stick. It was sooo funny at the moment that we were getting yelled at while this snake slithered away. I wanted to laugh but didn't dare. After that I think of that if I see a snake! I'm 50 now, my sis is 49 and our friend is probably 46 and we still remember that incident and chuckle!!!

I love snakes! My son told me about playing with his friends and killing snakes!! I was never lucky enough to catch any on my own... I have had a few as pets though, the last one was a Burmese python that I ended up giving away because I couldn't find an answer as to whether snakes carried salmonella and my son was an infant and I didn't want to take a chance. I used to let that snake slither all over me. I think it was about 7' long and hadn't been handled much for a while before I rehomed it. Oh and when we moved before my son was born, we could no longer find frozen dead rats to feed it so we had to buy LIVE ones! UGH RODENTS! Now there's something I will gladly exterminate.

I've only ever seen a wild snake once. One day when I was little I went over to my friends house to play, and they found a long snake by their porch in the bushes. They had some construction people that were nearby come over to kill it.I watched as they chopped it with shovels but the thing would not die! They kept chopping it and chopping it into about 6 or more pieces and each part was just squirming all over the place. They were going balistic with their shovels just chopping and chopping and chopping.....lol.
