I feel that Alec Baldwin's words were incredibly hurtful in the recorded phone message that he left for his daughter Ireland... I feel that Kim Basinger was incredibly insensitive to release it to the media to be a forever reminder of the incident...

I think it is a daughter caught in the middle of a horrible divorce. I think Kim is doing everything in her powr to keep him from her and he 's tired of it and lashed out at the wrong person. I think after 6 years of fighting I too would of lashed out in some way,but not at Ireland.. That poor kid.. There is no winner in this situation.. You get one shot at being a parent and this is how they CHOOSE to behave.. The entire thing is sad.

No one wins, but I think Kim Basinger's actions in releasing the tape were more deliberately hurtful. Of course, the biggest loser in that poor little girl.

There can be no winner in this whole thing. You could see in his face, on The View, he was just exasperated. I could only think of how I would feel if someone was doing everything they possibly could to keep me away from my kids. For how long, didn't he say 6 years, I would be livid. Yes, he diffenantly lashed out at the wrong person but I would imagine he just sort of blew, the straw that broke the camels back if you will.

Maybe his abusive nature is the REASON that she has been deliberately keeping her from him. I'm sorry, but I don't buy that he blew up just this once. He's probably been very verbally abusive the whole time and she just wanted people to see his true colors. I do feel very sorry for the little girl, though.

It has not been proven that Kim Basinger released the voicemail. No matter who leaked it, it's never right to call your daughter a pig - twice.

Then, she needs to find out who DID release it to the media. It certainly couldn't have been Alec Baldwin?

I agree, there is absolutely no excuse for what he said but there is also no excuse for it being 'leaked' to the media.

A very real and sad thing is that when Ireland grows up, she just might want nothing to do with EITHER of them as a result of all that she has been put through.

I heard that she did NOT release it, However, at this point who knows??? If he is abusive as Kim has stated then I can understand how she is trying to protect Ireland. I wouldn't want my child with someone like that if he is abusive. However, if she is just being controlling then she is wrong and maybe that's what's driving Alecs rage. Who knows? But, I think some professionals should get in there and sort this out for Irelands sake. She's the innocent victim. What a mess. I've never liked Alec Baldwin much and his phone call was HORRIBLE but it's such a mess it's hard to say what's going on for sure. The only absolute is how hurtful this is to Ireland.

I bet IRELAND released the voicemail.

Wouldn't that be a nice way to get someone to pay attention to all the mind games she has probably be put through?

Have you guys ever seen the picture that a photographer snapped of Alec trying to cut through the scene when 911 happened?

He is trying to push his way through crime scene tape and a police officer is telling him No Way!
The reason he was so unconcerned, cause he was shooting a movie and was trying to get to the set.
I'm going to try to find the picture......I don't know how to post it here when I do.
Does someone want to PM me to tell me how to?

I think in the general scheme of things, it's ridiculous we are even reading about this. Don't reporters have anything better to report on??? Furthermore, who here can honestly say they have never lost their temper with their child?? Even Rosie said she has yelled curse words at her children, she's gotten so frustrated.

I don't know who leaked it, don't care who leaked it, and wish the reporters would focus on more important issues then movie stars and their lives.

Basinger has said she didn't leak it, but she hasn't denied that someone (lawyer? P.R. person?) leaked it on her behalf.

I agree. In the original note discussing this, I mentioned that I was glad that I wasn't so important that people were interested in how I behaved when I had a meltdown with my kids!! Doesn't happen very often, but it certainly makes an impression on them when it does....and not one that I think ruins them for life. LOL.

The other thing that I'd say is that sometimes when your kids are very young, it is hard to imagine the pre-teen and teenage years.
