Well nothing is fool proof. I should know, ds is the result of a condom accident. After the shock, we grew to love the idea. Now we can't remember life without him.

We use BC pill and condoms. Not a chance I want to take. Overly cautious.

Husband is fixed (never went back to get checked ), I was planning on it, just haven't yet... and pictures of little babies (our little one just turned 6 months, so I'm talking newborns lol) are making me rethink it! I was SO done after 2... #3 was an accident...

Pretty funny...I guess that would work.

DH and I use the pullout method for now, well it didnt work 3 times but we're getting better at it!! I am trying to convince him to get fixed because I feel I went through 3 births why should I have to be the one to get fixed. Hes working up the courage.

Having my uterus out really helped in the BC department. Before that we used the pill, if i would have relied on hubby to pull out, I would have been pregnant all the time.

Dh got snipped last month. Before that it was the 'pull-out' method..... But until we get the go ahead from the doc that his 'little swimmers' are gone, we use a condom.

The Pill, and I'm not too find of it. Have used the other two non-permanent methods, when trying to figure out if the pills were making me crazy. DH wants kids, but I sort of think that an accident would be the only way that would happen, and he had his chances at that.

We currently use nothing. We used condoms for a few months after the baby was born (she's 9 months now). It's strange for me to worry about getting pregnant since it took almost five years to get pregnant w/number two and three years of using nothing for #3. If we have #4, I'm REALLY thinking about the pill seasonale (sp) only because of NOT having periods. If not that, then my obgyn gave me info on the non-hormonal IUD. I don't think either one of us is ready to do anything perm since we are both young (31 and 32).

i use seasonale and love it. periods only 4 times a year! i personally do not care for condoms much.

they just released a generic of it which makes it a lot cheaper. when i start my next pack, i will be trying the generic version out.

Did you have any problems when you first started taking it "(break-thru bleeding, heavier periods, weight gain, etc)?

I'd so love to only have a period four times a year!

periods are lighter ever since the start of taking it, no weight gain really, i did have some break through for the 3-6 month period (first 1-3 months were fine though). I have been on it for a year and have absolutely no break through now and much lighter periods.

Thanks for the info. If we are able to have #4, this sounds like something I would love to use afterwards. My periods have gotten a lot worse since having #3 and anything that makes me NOT have one is a good thing! LOL

I just went in last week for all this. I have always taken the pill for years and never gotten pregnant while on it. However, now that I am over 35 and have high cholesterol (had it checked again this morning) they refused to give me the pill again. I am one of those impossible people. I have a severe latex allergy that continues to get worse as the years go by, so that eliminated almost everything but the pill. Did you guys know that diaphrams are made with latex??? I can't win!!! So, they decided to give me the depo shots. So far, so good. Plus I LOVED the idea of NO periods. We shall see how it goes. ANyone else here been on Depo for awhile? LOve it/Hate it? Anyone gotten pregnant on it?

One of the few benefits of getting 'old'..............you don't have to use anyting!
However, I had a hysterectomy in my mid 30's and it was one of the best things I ever did!

I was on Depo for like 8 years and LOVED it It is wonderful never to have to deal with having your period!!!! I had no complications at all, other than a little weight gain. It took us almost 6 months after going off Depo to get pregnant. Now DS is almost 11 months old and I just got my period again No fun . . . We are trying for #2 within a few months

Had a hysterectomy in 8 years ago. Wonderful. I love it.

Had 3 kids in 2 1/2 years and was scared to death. Finally had #4 after a miscarriage. Having had the hyster. EVERYTHING has improved ****. I am not so nervous about getting pregnant. Talk about fertile myrtle.

Now if I could just give them back!! They are 10 (I love her SO much, not hormonally charged), 17, 18 and 19!!!!

I've been on Seasonale for 3 years...I love it! I've been using the generic, Jalisa, for 2 cycles. It's $118 v. $170 for Seasonale. Plus what I save on not having to buy femanine products. My period is 3 days max and very light. No breakthrough for me and barely a cramp. I'm sticking with it through menapause, my doc says I may never feel a hot flash! Oh yeah, and no more babies...my 2 are plenty!
