Question Molded cup bra??

Today I was looking for DD some new bras and there are so many molded cup bras. I asked her if any of the girls actually wear these. They look so uncomfortable and hot!! Okay, I asked her if any of the girls that actually have something there wear the molded cup. I remember when the girls DD's age started wearing bras, one of my best friends would kid with the neighbor girl that was very flat and wearing a molded up bra. My friend called it the instant boob bra.
I just can't see a size 40C molded cup bra being comfortable. Maybe I need to try one on??

Well for some of us who are the like nearly B's we need molded cups. Yep, I am looking for an instant boob, cup size B please....LOL For little girls who are just budding the molded cups become a necessity because of the flimsy material that Tshirts and such are made from. Having little nips is embarassing for young ones so the molded cup helps in that arena.

I actually wear these and only these, in a 38DD. I have worn only these ones since I was 13 because I liked that they werent flimsy I had big boobs and couldnt imagine those other bras being able to hold them up or to keep them from showing when I got cold

I love them, and I'm pretty big on top. After a certain size, having a bra that puts my boobs out in front of me, rather than trying to stuff them into an armpit is a necessity.

i love them (32D here) not the uber push up sort (im big enough :P) but the molded ones add more shape and lift in my opinion. droopy boobs are yucky!

I wear molded (not padded) cup bras too! If you buy cotton, they are not hot. I wear them so it's not so obvious when I am cold (if you get my drift).

OK! I must have been raised in a barn. What is the difference between a molded cup and a padded cup. I am well endowed and have always worn an underwire with a tircot cup. If the molded hold the girls up better, don't shove them into your armpits, and take care of cool breezes...show me what I am missing please!

I too wear molded cup bras I have others but lately have found that I like how the molded cup keeps them "high and dry". I wear 38dd so it is nice to have a bra give them some shape. If you can find a convertible version then you can wear it as a racerback, strapless, criss crossed and regular. The crossed version is excellent if you are looking for cleavage for a nice low cut dress...

Molded cup bras look similar to t-shirt bras, smooth under blouses etc.

Crzy,

I bought mine at JcPennys B&M, and the other one I found NWT at a thrift store. You might try Lingerie | Bras | Panties | Show off brassieres, 50's Lingerie can't remember if they have a molded cup or just a straight t-shirt bra. However their open tip bra is very supportive as well.

Funny story...My DD and I were making bug eye glasses out of egg cartons the other day and she held them up to her chest and said they look like mommy's b**b things. So, while my bras are surely more supportive, soft and smooth than an egg carton, apparently my 4 yr old thinks they look like them!

My poor DD she has a body exactly like her momma......good for her bad for her daddy good for her future hubby!

She is already wearing a 34 A and she's10 YOWZA!! is that the right spelling?

She wears the molded cups to keep her from the flimsy material that they use for T-shirts nowadays!!

Oh so funny BeachRatz I said the same as you!!

I wear a 46 EE so its hard to find in this size. I usually have to special order them, and yes they keep'em high and dry!

I'm not sure we're all on the same page here. I'm talking about molded cups that if you were to set the bra on a table, it would stand up on it's own. If you took the straps off, it looks like a strapless bra. I don't understand how it keeps your boobies high and dry. Maybe on the bottom side, but do the cups in front and topside breathe?

The key to finding comfortable bras in any style is a professional fitting. I had one at a local store (not a chain) and would highly recommend it. It is amazing how much better it makes me look and how comfortable most styles are.

I wear some molded cups, especially when I wear t-shirts, and they are comfortable, but I prefer a more lacy style.

I'm trying to think how to put this . . . Yes, I mean the sort that has a figure even if it's sitting on a table, and these can be thick and padded, but the normal one are only a millimeter or two thick. Normally, they're covered in cotton, though the outside might have microfiber or lace. They give almost a shelf for larger breasts, and keeping them away from you chest helps with staying cooler. And they breathe about as well as any big bra can, because they don't have quite so much construction as other ones do. Mine are from Lane Bryant, though they're not hard to find.

ETA, linslady, that's an adorable site! There is some nudity, but the models look like real women, and the products are all retro-cute.

They keep mine up and all of mine have the removable strap in case I'm wearing a tank top or something. I don't have super thick padding or anything though......I do not need to add up there!

When I said high and dry, I mean I have "sag" in the chest area and I would sweat without keeping the girls off of my ribs!!! Therefore high and dry. LOL (and sad) Thats why next summer I am getting a lift.
