Do you use mineral make up?

If so, what do you use? I use Bare Essentuals and DD uses a compact from her doctor. Her mineral make up was expensive and I am trying to find something over the counter that is oil free and that does not cost a lot. Her doctor said Bare Essentuals uses oil so I will not buy that for her. The compact is great for her so she can just put it in her purse and not have to worry about brushes and such. Also, do you use a sun screen under your mineral make up? If so, what do you use that does not clog the pores? I know the Bare Essentuals had an SPF 15 however, I would like to get additional protection.

I use Bare Minerals. I used to have a lot of breakout now rarely do. The Bare Minerals packaging doesn't mention oils, just minerals. Does she buy her compact from the doctor? I'm sure he doesn't want to lose the $$ to Bare Minerals. We have a local Natural Foods store that sells a mineral make up. Try your area, they may have another brand. It is cheaper but I like the BAre MInerals so I stay with it. The new night time product is wonderful but expensive.

I like Everyday Minerals for face stuff, and Pure Luxe for eyeshadows, and coloured stuff (like concealer/primers). The problem is that none of this stuff is pressed, so it can get messy. I've had varying degrees of success pressing it myself with bit of alcohol, but that's messy too.

Physician's Formula and Pur Minerals both make pressed foundation compacts, that are both technically oil free, but I'd say neither is truly free of greasy stuff. The doctor's stuff probably isn't either, since pressed powder needs something to hold it together, but the amount in any of these products is going to be really low. BE lists no oils, but it's also a powder, which is only useful at home. The PM stuff is popular, and can be found at Ulta, though I haven't tried it. The PF can be found at a drugstore or Wal-Mart, and I liked mine until I dropped and shattered it. I don't use sunscreen, but I'm mostly nocturnal, so it's sort of an N/A.

The things I mentioned:
purminerals.com
Physicians Formula
Natural mineral based powder cosmetics and skincare. - Pure Luxe Cosmetics and Skincare
Everyday Minerals - Mineral Makeup

Could she use your make-up for a short period of time to see if she breaks out with it?

I have used Bare Escentuals (too expensive and bad customer service) Everyday Minerals (horrendous customer service and there is NO phone number to call)
Now I use Physician's Formula which works better than Everyday and almost as good as BE at about $10 and often on sale for 40 or 50% off.

Great idea to check a health food store. I want to get DD another compact but don't want to spend the $$$ for that and the other essentials the doctor wants you to buy.

Oh. I am going to have to look into Physicians formula as well. Certainly the price is more reasonable than what the doctor's office charges.

I love Bare Escentuals and I kind of like Everyday Minerals. I have roseaca and my skin has never been better. Less outbreaks, less redness. Also, it is much cheaper to buy BE on Ebay from reputable sellers.
