I stopped on my way home from work to use a few of the soda coupons at food lion and met the worlds biggest dingbat checker. she looked at the coupons and said " you cant use these " and slid them back to me. I slide them back to her and said " why not" she said. " well, cause you didnt buy this brand of sodas" ( the coupon is for any cola) so I said" ok, you walk back here with me and show me the cola that is name ANY. she said . well we dont carry that brand!!!!!!!!!!!! I said" ok. this is enough . call the manager. she said " there is no need in bothering him cause I KNOW we dont carry that brand. I said " humor me . call the manager. so she did and the manager came over and she said" I tried to tell this woman here that we dont carry this brand of soda." the manager asked what brand and she said " any brand". I was trying to not laugh at her and the manager said" That means any brand she wants to buy. Take this ladies coupons" . I was smiling and smiling away. so she took them and the others and after she told me the total, i wrote the check and went to the car. I got to thinking that was a little high for what I had figured out in my head so i was looking at the receipt and the 2 coupons I had given her for the free razors wasnt taken off. They were 6.99 each. So I go back in the store and walk over to her and she says. " Those coupons was taken off so dont start on that again" I said . Ok. I will just take this up with the manager. so I went to the service desk and there was the same manager and I explained that I had 2 more coupons that didnt come off and they were for the free razors and they were 6.99 each. so we go back to the cker and she rolls her eyes as she sees us coming and the manager asked her where the coupons are that I gave her. she pulled them out of a little white envelope and handed them to the manager. He looked through them and the 2 for the free razors wasnt there. He asked me if I was sure that I gave them to her and I said yes they were in the envelope that i handed her so he asked her again where they were. she acted like she was looking around the floor and I noticed that they were sticking out for under a sales paper beside her register. so I said " there they are" and pointed to them. she handed them over to the manager and he asked her why they were beside the register and not in the envelope with all the other coupons . she didnt answer. so we went to the service desk and I got back the 14.00 she ws trying to cheat me out of. she put them to the side to use herself! she was sooo pissed at me when I left. she rolled her big old eyes at me as i walked past her holding my money in my hand. I just smiled and kept walking.
she is about as off as the one who told me I couldnt use the 1.00 off any meat on a bag of meat balls!
you guys, add your dumb checker stories. I know there is some really good ones out there and we want you to share them!

Oh my, What a story! I doubt she will be there the next time you go back to Food Lion. Glad you got things straightened out with the manager.

She should be fired for stealing. Putting those coupons aside is the same thing as stealing.

We must be really lucky around here because this never happens to me and I use a lot of coupons. Really, no complaints about any of the cashiers at the 3 stores I shop at regularly except that at the A&P, some of the younger cashiers carry on conversations with each other and barely acknowledge the customer let alone say "thank you". I'm glad you got it all straightened out.

I went to the store and bought about items, none of them over 5.99. My total came to 68.99!!!! I told the checker there was a mistake, and she said no she had watche as she scanned and it all came up okay. I got closer to the screen and said "then tell me what this item is for $59.99? She said she didn't know as it rung up under "grocery". I said "well it is the first thing you scanned which would be that case of ice tea" So she said "You mean you don't want it?" By this time everyone in line was laughing. I said "I want the tea, but I want it for the $5.99 price that is on the sign not for $59.99. She actually had a bag boy go check the sign before she would take it off my bill!!!!!

About 4 years ago at my local Wal-Mart I had a cashier around 50- 55 years old, Had to place the age because this is something you might expect from a young teenage checker. NOT someone this old.

I was getting milk and it was for a gallon of milk (WIC) Being that my son had to drink Lac Free milk and it ONLY comes in half gallons I needed to get 2 of them. I swear I'm not lying about this, The cashier said I couldn't use the WIC as it states 1 gallon. I told her 2 half gallons = 1 gallon. She said NO IT DOES, I said YES IT DOES, Again she said it didn't make a gallon, OK I'm PO'ED at this point because there's just noway she is going to believe me that 2 half = 1 gallon. I told her to call the store mang, she said I'll call a CSM, told her NO, Dont want a CSM, I want to see the store mang, I want this store mang to know what a dumb cashier he has working for them. SM come over and she tells him, this lady wants to get 2 half gallons and the WIC is for 1 gallon. She can't use the WIC for 2 half's. SM tells her yes she can 2 = 1 gallon. She tells him NO WAY, Thats not a gallon, I spoke up and asked her well if its no then what is it ?????? she ( I swear to this ) Said I dont have a clue, only it's NOT a gallon. The SM told her to finish the sale and he said I'm so sorry for your hold up. the cashier REFUSED to finish the sale and told the SM she wouldn't place her name on the WIC check as she knew it was wrong. The SM told her to leave and take a break, he finished the sale with me and kept telling me how sorry he was about all this. I told him , I'm sorry but y'all TRUST her to handle money ??? he laughed and said, yeah I know , She going back Thur some training after this

MyCoupons Is #1 for Holiday Shopping

This is really not funny, but more on the line of basic stupidity.

At CVS, I had the $2 off of any $10 purchase coupon. Well I was picking up a few items and my total come up to $12.46, I handed over my coupon and this lady (guessing she was late 20s) said that I couldn't use it, because my total was more than $10. I was like I know and the coupon says $2 off of any $10 or more purchase. Well we argue for about 5 minutes and I realize I am geting no where. An assistant manager (appears to be at least 40s) walks up and asks what the hold up is and she tells her the assistant AGREED with HER! I am like Okay, I was gonna say just divide up the order and make it work, then I said, absolutely not. I am not an idiot and I am not going to stand here and look like one. Afterall, it's your job to understand your stores coupons. So, I demanded the manager. Of course, he knew I was right, he apologized, used his key and fixed the error and told the both of them that would need to discuss this later. (he seemed to be a professional and didn't want to rep them in front of customers.) I mean gee whiz, to me it should'nt take a rocket scientist to know that $2 off of a $10 or more purchase means JUST THAT!

I also had a "smart cashier" at Wal-Mart, a couple of years ago my sister & I went and she gave me a coupon for Maybelline the coupon said for such & such product or ANY other maybelline product. So the girl looks at the blush that I was getting and says "this coupon isnt for this product" I say yes it says "such & such product or ANY other maybelline product" this is ANY other maybelline product. Well my sister starts getting mad and I'm in a hurry and don't really like to argue so I told the cashier to please just give me back my coupon and I wont buy that product as I say to my sister "dont get mad obviously you dont have to be smart or have any kind of education to work here so dont get mad at her because she's stupid I am not a mean person but just could not help myself since the girl could not understand plain and simple english that I just had to let her know how truly stupid she was. Now I wish that I called a manager over so that they could have told her but I was in a hurry and dont like to hold people up.
