Last but not least....

DINING ROOM IS DONE!!

These photos came out horrible-- it was morning and too bright in there, so I used the flash, which makes it look different colors. And ignore the scrapbook stuff piled on the chairs. Anyway, here you go:

Beautiful! What is the name of the new color (avocado)?

You have found your calling... decorating.

Wow... I'm thinking of painting my white walls but what do you do about the rest of the house (bedrooms and bathrooms). It is so much house to paint!!! and we live in a 1500 square foot home with vaulted HIGH ceiling!

I'm really impressed. Thanks for the photos.

The new color in the dining room is called "Sweet Annie" by Olympic. It's kind of a mossy green. (I believe Sweet Annie is a kind of plant of some sort. LOL)

I haven't done the upstairs yet, with the exception of the master bedroom, which is a color called "Butter". (It's yellow! LOL) The bathroom downstairs we haven't painted yet. I'm not sure what we are going to do there yet. Maybe a finish of some sort since I have a palm tree theme in there.

Our house is about 2000 sq feet with 9 foot ceilings throughout most of the house, and vaulted ceilings in the sunroom, master bedroom and stairwell. The stairwell will be impossible-- we'll have to use a scaffolding ladder. AGH!!! lol

Thanks!

Holly

Nice job Holly. I wish I had the patience (and taste, lol) to redecorate.

that's a beautiful piece you have in the entry hall. Did you buy that new or is that an antique?

I love it!! I really like the color and how they all blend together with the other colors in the house, very tastefully done.

We are really into color and have everything but red and orange in this house so far, but it's matter of time before I figure out how to get that in here somewhere.

We had a ranch before this house and we had all of the walls different colors (they matched though) and what a time comsuming job. Then the new owners bought it and painted it all white, even the bathrooms! Guess they can do what they want since they bought it, but that must be so blah?

Thanks! I bought that a year or so ago. I work Furniture Market every year for a company called Stein World. They make peices to look like antiques. Isn't it cool?

It's really very pretty. Does Stein World have a website and can you order online?

I have been into collecting antiques and antique shaped furniture lately...the pieces are so uniquely shaped for the eras for which they were produced or reproduced to represent.

(the paint looks good too btw...but the piece is beautiful)

I just inherited a sitting room set from the grandmother's estate. I'm not sure what to do with it right now. It may need to be recovered. I guess I need to get an antiques dealer or someone who specializes in restoring those things to look at it.

I know you can't buy direct from Stein World, but I'm sure some store carries their products online.

what seems to be obviously wrong with the set? Is it mostly wood (I am thinking it is a sofa, 2 chairs, end tables etc)? Does it look worn out and tired / weathered?

For the wood pieces (if there are any), go pick up some Liquid Gold (it comes in a bottle or in a spray can, with a red cap)...use that on the wood (daily if the wood looks dry). You would be amazed at what a fantastic job just putting that on does.

If the sitting room set is upholstered (chairs / sofa), there isn't a need to take to an antique dealer (they will charge you an arm and leg)-- you can either reupholster it yourself with a fabric you like or check in your phone book for someone who does upholstery...but definitely get a bottle or can of Liquid Gold--it's perfect for wood antiques and good for other wood furniture in your home. (it does come with sticker shock though!)

I ordered a catalog from Stein World under the contact us link.
