Holly, you'll be in my thoughts. I hope everything goes well. Please let us know. Good luck with the yucky drink tomorrow....my dad's had to drink that several times and has pronounced it just plain bad. You know you have many shoulders here to lean on, many ears to listen and mouths to offer prayers or good thoughts for you. Many hugs to you! |

Holly, you know you will be in thoughts and prayers for peace and health. He won't bring you to it if he can't bring you through it. I beleive that with Him, anything is possible. I am sure your family is worried as much as you are....hugs to everyone.

The worst part is the prep! It's amazing, the different preps the doctors use. Our school secretary recently had a prep that sounds similar to yours but is different than the one I use. First (to me foremost) is the pill for nausea. The school secretary wasn't given this. It keeps you from gagging and throwing up the prep. I was able to eat clear stuff the day before which included vanilla ice cream. So guess what I'd eat the day before?? Nausea pill, phospho citrate in the green bottle, only half the prep gallon mixed with whatever I chose without sugar in it and then 2 dulcolax. It was 4 dulcolax but I complained of severe stomach cramps and the dr. reduced it to 2. I started the prep about 5 in the evening and by 10-10:30 was ready for bed. Not an all day affair. Seems rather extreme to make it an all day prep. At least your doctor is taking early precautions. Hopefully everything will be fine. |

Your right the "prep" is the worst. My Dr. gave me only 1/2 gallon of stuff to drink and it came in several flavored packets when I got the prescription (co-pay was $40.00) but recommend the lemon lime flavor that wasnt as bad and the one I had done 10 years ago. My prayers are with you, colon cancer runs in my family. Lucky this cancer grows slowly so you should be fine. My prayers are with you and since you sound like a strong person already you should do well. |

Good Luck, Holly. My neighbor is an internal medicine doc and we were talking about this last month when my mom had her colonoscopy. He said it's a little known secret that you really don't HAVE to do the prep... the Dr's just don't want to deal with the uh...mess. My mom could only get down the first 8 ounces, and her procedure went fine. Hoping everything comes out ok for you. ( No pun intended!) |

Holly I will say some extra prayers for you. Believe it or not you have been on my prayer list since the initial diagnosis back in '04. I remember the whole prep thing not familiar with the Movi-Prep, I just know when I used the Golytely or whatever it was called I was told to put Lemonade Crystal Light in it to make it taste better and it kind of worked. Please do keep us updated we're here for you !

Oh my, I have had to do this and the prep was not fun...but neither was the procedure, truth be told. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes go out today and will continually.

Holly, I've thought of you 3 times in the last week... everytime I hear this song played on the radio I think of you...Yes, You're part of my "mycoupons" family!---- Everyone here may be "virtual" friends, but I feel connected after being a part of your lives for so many years....Kinda makes us all distant relatives ya know?! We will be praying here as well. Distract yourself by taking & sharing more pictures of your lovely home!!!-- I love what you've done!---Or videos... Your YouTube video was great!-- {{sending hugs}} X Song that reminds me of you.... Artist/Band: Morgan Craig Lyrics for Song: Tough Lyrics for Album: Little Bit of Life Tough Monte Criswell/Joe Leathers She’s in the kitchen at the crack of dawn Bacon’s on, coffee’s strong Kids running wild, taking off their clothes If she’s a nervous wreck, well it never shows Takes one to football and one to dance Hits the Y for aerobics class Drops by the bank, stops at the store Has on a smile when I walk through the door The last to go to bed, she’ll be the first one up And I thought I was tough Chorus She’s strong, pushes on, can’t slow her down She can take anything life dishes out There was a time Back before she was mine When I thought I was tough We sat there five years ago The doctors let us know, the test showed She’d have to fight to live, I broke down and cried She held me and said it’s gonna be alright She wore that wig to church Pink ribbon pinned there on her shirt No room for fear, full of faith Hands held high singing Amazing Grace Never once complained, refusing to give up And I thought I was tough Chorus She’s strong, pushes on, can’t slow her down She can take anything life dishes out There was a time Back before she was mine When I thought I was tough She’s a gentle word, the sweetest kiss A velvet touch against my skin I’ve seen her cry, I’ve seen her break But in my eyes, she’ll always be strong There was a time Back before she was mine When I thought I was tough

Didn't you get some really good drugs for the procedure? I sure do. One time I did start coming around close to the end of the procedure. It was extremely uncomfortable. I have heard of people having this done with no sedation. No way!! |

OK, prepare for TMI.... This Movi Prep is so gross-- I'd drink the CT scan stuff TWICE before drinking this stuff again!! Not to mention I've been in the bathroom all night. Ugh... my stomach is killing me!! Holly PS-- The good news is I'm not hungry anymore!! LOL
