My dh wants me to order us a couple of IPODS. What should I buy? Thanks for any suggestions

Once you decide on what model you want, I strongly urge you to go to the Apple.com site and get a refurbished unit. Pricing is much less than original. Check out previous threads on this board and you will find many members here have purchased refurb. units and have generally received basically new units for much less, such as some nanos for $100 or more off regular price:

I bought my DD the $79 refurbished one from aaple.com for her b-day and she loves it. She has no clue it was refurbished. I think it holds about 250 songs. I personally don't like ipods because I hate have to scroll with the thumb controls. It's similar to a touchpad on a laptop and I have enough trouble doing that.

I have the 80 gb video IPOD which I LOVE. It's great for when we go to the doctor or dentist or even out to dinner and the kids are getting on my nerves - I turn on a movie and they're instantly not bored.

I have the slightly older 30GB Video Ipod... (When this breaks I'll be getting the 80gb...) LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! I really do....LOL Like right now, I'm working (ok a little break RIGHT now) When working at home I'm always plugged in...I bought myself a very expensive pair of headphones which make the ipod even BETTER!!!

Valerie, I bought a pair of pink skullcandy lowrider earphones to go w/ mine. LOVE them. They're great for eyeglass wearers b/c they're so lightweight.

I bought the refurbished 30 gb one. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I never knew I would use it so much! I put all of my favorite cds on it, downloaded a few movies, downloaded a load of pictures on it, and even put a ton of video clips from my camera, and bought about 4 different games from itunes, and I still have over 17 gb of space left! I don't even know what I would do with 80gb!

Ok, those sound awesome.....I want some. Where did you get 'em??

they fold up small but not as small as buds. It gets so windy on campus (it's up in the mountains) that buds always fall out, so these work well.

I have the older 30gig video Ipod as well and I love it. I use it every single day in the car. I have the cradle for the IPOD which holds it up front and center and I listen to my music all of the time. Best gift my DH ever got me!!!

FANTASTIC!! I've had them since June7th 2006 (LOL amazon says that for me on the page) and I really would recommend them to anyone!! I just went through my amazon history to find what I paid...I BOUGHT them 1 year ago for $56!! They went up A LOT!! Regardless if mine were to break today, I'd buy another pair...SOOOO worth it!!

I have the 80 gig - could not do without it. I have an hour commute to work and have the car transmitter- lifesaver. also comes in handy when i'm doing my walking/running.

I also have the older 20 gig- still works great and I used that one everyday for a couple years.
