Gift ideas needed, please.

DD got invited to an end of the year pool party/BBQ. There are going to be a lot of kids there, and I know the family will have much expense and investment in this event. Any gift ideas that DD could bring to let the parents know we appreciate the inivite??? They are not asking for any money, food, etc.

thanks.

What about a nice set of plasticware. Plates, cups, trays etc in real bright colors for outdoor use. We received a nice set as a housewarming gift last year and we love it. Outdoor candles would be good too.

We have an end of the school year pool party for DD's class. We don't expect anyone to bring/send anything. Our party does not cost that much, we have an inground pool and we just buy hot dogs, chips, cookies and sodas, costs less than $25. If you really wanted to send something, maybe something for the pool, like a raft or game or something the kids could play while they are there, but could also be left as a gift?

I would call the hostess and ask if you could bring anything. If she says, 'no', then I would bring flowers, or a restaurant gift card for the family to enjoy later.

I do end of year pool parties for my kids' classmates. One of the moms always brings some squirt toys or other little things they can play with in the pool from Oriental Trading catalog. It's easy and inexpensive bring enough for everyone, and always appreciated.

HTH!

I hate to send my kids empty-handed to these events. I do call and ask what I can send, and sometimes get a good reply. If not, I just make a batch of homemade cookies/brownies, and send those along-they always get eaten. I wouldn't go too wild on this one, but it is nice to teach your daughter to appreciate the hosts of the party.
