All of us go once a year (unless we have strep or pink eye or ???)

We all get annual physicals and get annual prescriptions renewed at that time.

We all go to a family practictioner (Osteopath) and the kids have never visited an actual Pediatrician since they day they were born!

I also go in for a yearly mammogram... yippee!

I am so thankful that we have all been so healthy! None of us had to make any *extra* visits this year -- since last year's physical. Knock on wood!


How often do you and your kids go to the doctor?

LOL Well, I go every 2 months to the oncologist-- lucky me!! (Can you imagine having a pelvic exam every 2 months???)

I go to my regular doc once a year, and my son goes once a year unless he is sick. The kids go to the dentist every 6 months, I go once a year.

We have a wing named after us in the pediatricians office!

We are there AT LEAST once a month, usually more.

My kids are always picking up a cold or a concussion.

I go whenever I am sick... my school system has set up "free" health care for workers & their families if we have their insurance plan. They opened in January, dh has been 3-4 times, and I have been 5-6 times. I have also been to see a specialist in a larger city near us for some female issues. Guess that brings my dr total up to about 10 times.

Since I teach, I usually end up with something 1-2 times a year, sometimes more.

Dh never. Dd once year for check up, unless she's sick which is rare. I only go when I absolutely have to. (Except for the once a yr gyn visit). Ds on the other hand goes frequently. Between his regular well baby visits, the allergist, GI doctor and dermatologist we are quite busy.

whenever we are sick or the kids need shots (which is awhile now). DS hasn't been he was 5 (he's almost 8) and DD just went for her last round of shots this year so it will probably be awhile. I go in for my yearly and if I am sick. DH rarely goes as well. I think he went a year ago. We got to a family doc. Now if you are talking chiropractor, DH goes about 4 times a year and me once a year

Doctors:
I go once a year. And only then because she won't renew my scripts unless I come in.
Kids once a year and when sick or hurt. Lately it seems we've been lots one had a broken foot and had to see a specialist several times and the other always has something going on with his ankles or wrists from playing sports.
DH only when I drag him in.

For most things, coughs, poison ivy... stuff like that I just call and tell them what I want and they call it in.

As for the Dentist:
Me never.
Dh only when in severe pain.
Boys every 6 months.

Chiropractor:
Me about every other month. Sometimes a few times a week.
Dh when his neck messes up on him.
Boys every other week.

Some years we are healthy and other years we are not. When my kids were little, 2 of them had major issues with ears and one with allergies etc. that we were in the office all the time. My doctor would see all 3 and charge me for 1 1/2 kids. Then we were healthy. When my oldest was 12 and my dd was 6 they both had mastioditis which meant 5 visits to the hospital for my dd and 2 for my son. Then we were all healthy for 10 years. 2 1/2 years ago my dh got viral encephalitis. Many hospital visits and docter visit. 1 1/2 years ago my dh got prostrate cancer. Many visits again. In those 2 years my dh met his deductable and out of pocket costs in April of each year. This year I met my deductable before my dh. Now that is something .
