Maybe a small photo album they can put all their jr high memories in. Gift certificate to ITunes. My daughter will graduate from 8th grade next year. How much $$ do most of you spend on your child's gift? Or do you give them cash?

We gave our oldest $100 when he graduated 8th grade. He was able to decide what he wanted to spend it on and thankfully, it was something of use for school...a new laptop he'd been saving for. As for friends, what I did with my oldest is bought each of them a disposable camera and a small photo album. I then had little brass plates made up at our local trophy shop that had their name, graduated from and the year. I gave it to the boys the morning of their last day, since I was helping to serve their pancake breakfasts. They took the darndest pictures, but it's all about them and their friends! I stopped after graduation, on our way to celebrate at Olive Garden with about 25 of my sons friends, with his immediate buddies and bought them each another camera. |
