Yes!!! That way there's no question or favortism shown. DD has complained how one student will be reprimanded about what they're wearing and another student wearing the same thing won't be. It's all about the enforcement of the rules.

It should be up to each school and the parents. When my son was in Kinder they had uniforms but it was not mandatory and it was very relaxed. They could wear jeans with the shirts. It made it easier for me. I didn't have to figure out what he was going to wear.

| My dd is starting jr high in Aug. and they are required to wear uniforms. I like the idea because for those kids who can't afford the "name brands" at least then all the kids are dressed the same. It also cuts down on the amount of choices my daughter has, she takes forever to get ready and pick out something she likes, this makes it easy. |

although we homeschool now, (well for the last 8 years)...our dd has been in both parochial schools with uniforms and public schools without. I would definitely vote for schools that HAVE uniforms. Both reasons supporting this have been mentioned: 1) eliminates "class" amongst kids, this way they can focus on learning instead of so and so and how they are dressed. 2) makes picking an outfit really easy-- and a possible 3rd reason: 3) stops the whining from your kids every fall when it's time to buy them all the latest fashions to keep up with their friends (imagine the savings on your budgets!)

Yes!!! My son's school is a 'uniform' school. They don't have a specific uniform, per say, but they have to wear khaki or navy bottoms, and red, blue or white shirts. Makes life SO easy. I wish my daughter's school would do that! LOL Holly

My vote goes for uniforms. I love them!! They make your life so easy! Your children have no choice this is what you have to wear. Our public school has uniforms but the principal doesn't enforce them...this makes my life hard! Who knew that my 3rd grader would want to be such a fashion plate!

My son has been wearing uniforms for 4 years now, and I LOVE it. It's so much easier. My dd's school is adopting the uniform thing for next year and while I really enjoyed dressing her up.. I'm happy that it'll be a lot easier for us next year with everyone in uniforms.

Given what I know and have seen from Teens around here I'm GLAD HAPPY DANCING that we have been in uniforms for YEARS and YEARS in Alabama ( My part anyway ).... Cuts down on the girls showing off too much and cuts down on the boys wearing their pants to their knee caps.I was in Wal-Mart just last night looking for a shirt for my 10 year old,In passing I spotted the shorts OMG, What Kind of Mother would buy the shorts I saw last night for their Preteen >>????, I swear to you from the bottom of the short leg to the crouch there was LESS than 2 Inches and this was for girls small enough to fit them in the 7,8,9 10 year old age.Nothing makes me gag more than to see the young boys here wear their pants below their butt cheeks with a belt I dont care to see what kind of boxers they have own personally. Its silly and really looks tacky (IMHO)... Having 2 boys that will be soon in the preteen age group, It wouldn't pay for either one to ask if they can do this. Never happen under my roof.So YES 110% Uniforms all the way.
