My son went to court yesterday. He lied to the judge and the judge caught him. He was then sent for an immediate drug and alcohol screen. If it comes back positive he is gone to the detention home for 30 days. He had that BS I DONT CARE Attiitude with the judge and he saw right threw it. Of course my ex husband stood in the hallway and blamed me for everything. (As if I dont live with enough guilt over all this crap) We will find out Wednesday or Thursday what the results were. If they are positive, there will be no good byes, a sheriff will show up and take him into custody. In the mean time, he is under house arrest. My ex father in law is retired so he is with him. If the test is negative, we meet again next week and decide on punishment. He was originally in court for running away and delinquency. House arrest for 6 months is what it appears like the outcome will be.
Thanks to all of you for you paryers and thoughts. Couldnt meet a nicer group of strangers. It really helps to know that there are people who have been there done that!!

This might be the best thing for him as hard as it must be to watch as a parent. Sometimes kids just have to do things the hard way. I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers over the next few days. Let us know if you need anything!! I know the Ladies on this site are very supportive.

House arrest is hard too, hard on the parents that is. Make him be resposible for evertime he has to call to leave the house or whatever. He made his bad, Make him lie in it!

My thoughts and good wishes sent out to you. I hope everything comes out okay and that he was clean. However, if it doesn't, the consequences given to him by the court system might be the kick in he butt he needs.....since it is so easy for our kids to ignore our advice, unfortunately. The guilt should, in any case, be his, not yours. keep the faith!
