Due to Gas increase what are you cutting back on?

Are you making any special provisions to accomodate the expense of gas?? Just curious because stores seem quieter these days.

OH IT HIT 3.49 today in Ohio.. I'm sick about it. I don't go anywhere.. luckily my dh drives tow truck at night so we go anywhere in that since we don't have to buy gas for it. I've combined trips more than ever.. I haven't left the house in 2 days.. so today were going to giant eagle to grocery shop, across the street to cvs for items there, then a mystery shop in that same town for dinner, and a pit stop at kmart for our pool hoses (across the street from my mystery shop.)

I've cut out extra trips all together. We used to go to the park every day with the boys.. now we play in the sprinkler and our pool here at the house.
My oldest last day of school is tommorow.. we will dump off our recyclables on the way there and get items for the week at the library to entertain us.
in one way it really does suck to not be able to take my boys where I want to take them, but in another way it is a great way to save money!! lol

I have been cutting back on travel where I can for the past two weeks, sadly starting tomorrow I am back in school and it is 30 miles each way. I have to make the trip 4 times a week. I have worked out a carpool with one of the girls from school, so that may help a bit.

We are combining trips when we can and also rotating the use of the smaller car to the person who is driving the most that day.

We are going out of town only once this year and it isnt a trip that I can cancel, my sister is getting married right after the 4th of July and I am sure that gas will cost an arm and a leg by then.

I quit taking DH to work (something I did regularly since I started collecting unemployment in February).

I can't afford the gas to go get another job (that pays more than minimum wage!!)...so... I am home 99% of the time.

Thankfully we have direct deposit, so I don't have to run to the bank every week.

Living off the stockpile, which is quickly depleting!!!

DH and I both work 20 miles away, so we are traveling 80 miles a day combined. We are not making any extra trips at all anywhere, all errands must be run either going to or from work. I am a vendor and only work 23-25 hours a week, I cut back my trips from 5 days a week to 4 days a week, if gas gets higher, then I will cut back to 3 days a week and just work longer days. We are not eating out as much at restaurants and fast food, this was the first thing to go. We are spending more time at home, swimming in the pool, reading, watching movies, playing board games instead of leaving the house. If I run out of something then we do without it, like bread, milk etc. until the next time we go to the grocery store (closest grocery store is 10 miles roundtrip). The only thing we are doing extra is going to softball games (DD plays) and to pitching practice.

We just moved so things were changing anyways. We now walk to the bus stop instead of driving to the school (7 miles each way twice a day), only grocery shop once a week. Target, home depot, ect are all done in the same trip.

The dogs love the walks, the bus stop is at a small park so we play for 10min before heading home, and we are still home at the same time as before. I am so glad we moved.
