85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)

Thumbs up

dd, 16, has been studying 12th grade government all year (homeschooling).

So, these questions were fresh in mind still.

100% for me

85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)

In 2008, the INS will use a more difficult set of Citizen's test questions.

Questions and Answers for New Pilot Naturalization Test

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) plans to conduct a pilot test of 142 questions on U.S. history and government designed to replace the set of questions presently used.

USCIS will administer the pilot test to about 6,000 volunteer citizenship applicants in 10 cities beginning in early 2007.

The pilot program will allow USCIS to work out any problems and refine the test before it is fully implemented nationwide in the spring of 2008.

During the trial period, volunteer applicants who choose to take the pilot test can immediately take the current test if they incorrectly answer a pilot question. To pass, applicants will have to correctly answer six of 10 selected questions. The 10 pilot test sites are: Albany, NY; Boston, MA; Charleston, SC; Denver, CO; El Paso, TX; Kansas City, MO; Miami, FL; San Antonio, TX; Tucson, AZ; and Yakima, WA.

use the link above to see some of the new questions for the new test in 2008.

You answered 90% of questions correctly. Here's your rating:

0-20%: Maybe you're still thinking too much about the Old Country.

25-40%: Mmmm. Do you really want to be a citizen? This kind of performance isn't going to impress those nice immigration folks.

45-60%: Not too bad, but you really need to break out the civics books again -- word is, the INS is looking for an 80 percent score.

65-80%: Hey, you may make a good citizen yet! Look at your wrong answers and a little revision should do the trick.

85-100%: Welcome to the United States! (And, truth be told, you know more about this great land than most Americans.)

I missed
In what year was the Constitution written ( I knew the date, I dont know why I put what I did )
8. Which of the following amendments to the Constitution does NOT address or guarantee voting rights?

My son starts 5th grade this year. Thank goodness for Schoolhouse Rock!
I have been collecting atlas books and anything and everything having to do with the states and capitals (flash cards, games, etc.) for 2 years now.

(I am scared to take the test...... But I do know the Preamble.. )

65% -- that's the grade that I earned in school! Worst grade I ever got was in US Government class. I still have nightmares about that class. I was otherwise an A/B student.

Guess I'm shipping out tomorrow too!
