| Does anyone know anything about comcast?
I hope I'm putting this in the right location for this site otherwise the will bump me into outer space!!  I am finally breaking down and getting cable!! I have to get comcast but, dont know anything about it. I want the basic service!! Nothing more and nothing less....okay I want to pay less money. I have to use comcast b/c bellsouth/at&t is not available in that area.Do any of you Ladies know the secret questions to ask. I am way outta my element here and I want to appear like I know what I'm talking about before I call them,  HELP and TIA!!!

Id start with their website, which has prices. Comcast Home We have internet/cable/phone for $99/mth for 2 yr commitment. The cable is basic+ (up to channel 200) - unlimited local/LD (we dont call LD), and unlimited internet. HTH! Jason |

We have 2 boxes--with all the pay channels, and internet. we got it for the whole year at $63 a month. We chose to keep Vonage for telephone (been with them for over 3 years and not one single complaint), because it is unlimited everything, including overseas calling for $25 a month. Vonage combined with internet and comcast silver comes to under the $99 they want for their combination package. You need to ask for a special--they will NOT volunteer it. You can tell them that your friend has the deal I have for $63 a month for 1 year.

If you want the bundle make sure it's availble to you. When we found out about the bundle we was already planning on moving so it didnt matter to us, neighbors moved in in Dec and they had to have Comcast out everyday for 3-4 days to fix theirs up and along with that comcast had to change the grid here cause it wasnt ready for it

Comcast Silver with 2 boxes, and high speed internet for $63.00 a month for 12 months. Comcast Silver comes with all the pay channels (hbo, skinimax, encore, etc)

Okay maybe I just got a person who doesn't care but she said that the basic limited service and high speed internet was 81.90 a month and then it jumps to 108.00 a month after six months. So then she said she could not believe I was asking for a different price and hung up on me. I dialed 1-800-comcast Should I be screaming at them right now?? or what?

I have Comcast cable and internet. Phone service is not available in my area yet. I pay right at $100 for just those 2 services! I will occasionally call and tell them that they're too expensive and I'm thinking of getting dish network unless they can work out a better deal with me. They have ALWAYS given me a better deal. One time, they gave me cable and internet for $65 a month for 6 months. The next time it was $70 a month for 6 months. I realize that it's expensive and I've toyed with the idea of getting dial up internet......but, after having high speed for several years now, I'd probably be in for a real shock with dial up. If worse comes to worse though I'd take dial up over nothing. For now I can afford the high speed and love it. OP, they can do better than the normal price.....I'm not the only one that has called and ask for better prices and been given them. You got someone who obviously doesn't know their job and doesn't like their job and maybe needs to find a new job since they were so rude!!! |

I moved and can no longer get comcast and I sure do miss them!! What you need to do, is get the special for free installation and then in a month or 2 downsize to basic cable for 13 dollars a month is what I did... I remember, if you only want the basic channels, they charge outrageous prices to come hook you up! they don't advertise the basic package either... This is what I did, They had a satellite buy back program, so I went to goodwill and purchased the receiver for 5 bucks and gave it to the com cast guy...I received 36 dollars a month off my bill for 1 year. So, the silver package was around 50 a month (I think). Never watched TV..except ABC , etc. So, I called to have disconnected and they then offered me a great deal to stay. That's my story..we now have mediacom and it SUCKS! ((can I say that word here))  I never went through the 800 comcast number, I always called my local call center. They were much more helpful! |
