What do you use for your dog for fleas & tick prevention

Wow as a new dog owner i almost fainted at the price of frontline plus. 58.99 at petco. Is there something that is safe and effective for a better price? TIA

We have tried some of the cheaper stuff in the past and it just didn't work. I think Bio Spot was one that we tried and it did nothing. Frontline Plus is what we use on our dog. Luckily, we only have to use it after our dog has been over at my mom's house since we don't have flees around our house. You might be able to find it a little cheaper online somewhere though.

My vet will sell one packet of the largest Frontline that they make for $12. He tells you how much to use for your size dog. I can get 4 treatments out of one packet. Ask your vet if he does the same. Saves a lot of money.

We have also tried some of the cheaper stuff in the past and it doesn't work. Frontline Plus is the best that I have found for my dogs.

I also tried the cheaper things, Hartz and such...waste of money. I just bought a 6 pack of Frontline Plus from ebay for 40.00.

I have never tried the cheap stuff, we have two dogs and we use Advantix or Frontline, both are good, both seem to work the same, both are about the same price. We have large dogs so we have to use the full dose of the large dog size, no savings for us, in that respect.
