In January when I got laid off, I applied all over the place for a high paying job (ahem...they are non-existent in Michigan)...so I am sittin around collecting unemployment. *it's soon to run out*.

I applied a couple months back at News America. I laughed my butt off filling out their "questionaire" they sent me via email for a job with their company.

Of course I couldn't TELL THEM everything I know about their company or what they do....because, pfft, I would never get hired!!

(go ahead...ask... what is "news america" lol)

Anywho... Saladbar (member here) says she works there too, which explains why she knows when the good stuff is coming out...because she loads them up!

Well...I got a call about an hour ago...I have an interview on Friday for the job!! It doesn't pay much, but I figure the information I will glean and the items will more than make up for the pay.

(still wondering what company it is??) lol...

No longer will I have to wonder why they only spit out 1 at a time. LOL

I have a standing application with them. Got an email that they were not in need in my area but they are keeping my app if they have any openings. For me it would be PERFECT! I need a few hours, only want to work local and buzzing around a grocery store is one of the things I do best.

Ok, well I turned the job down!

typical "cycle" (4 weeks):

week one: 25 to 30 hours
week two: 1 to 1.5 hours
week three: 1 to 1.5 hours
week four: 1 to 1.5 hours

Pay: $8.50 per hour

USE YOUR OWN GASOLINE which is not reimbursed!!

the "position" available to me was for Canton, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and Belleville (grand total of 30 miles radius!)...with most of the stores not even in Belleville (my city).

So figure MAJOR driving with the cost of $3.65 gallon = work for free after taxes and gasoline.

I don't think so.

part time is one thing (the first week), but the remaining three weeks is just stupid!

After reading your post, I went to the website and applied (well, I applied for it in my husband's name). I can't do a lot of lifting and stuff. But, anyway, he got a call this morning from a local person and he's supposed to call her back tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what details he gets, especially after you've posted what they offered you. I'll let you know what pay and hours he's offered!
